It really depends on the wiring. The Slinglink uses the electrical wiring to carry the network signal. As long as their is a continuous path through the wiring (almost certainly to the load center and back out) it will work. It is possible to have a home wired in such a way that it will not work. I've seen homes with multiple load centers (the box with the circuit breakers) feeding different 'zones', each one fed one one master LC with the utility drop. Almost certainly the network traffic would not make it across zones in such a system. But in most homes it should be fine.
