What is the make and model # of your Modem and Router?
- Could have another router in the setup?
Do you have any other equipment in the mix; wireless bridge, SlingLink, switch, etc.
Let me know
I have done everything possible to get around this error. i have re-set up the remote slingplayer option and reforwarded my port for my router and it is still not working, the error is talking about changing the firewall settings, i dont even have a firewall! What the heck is going on here, i have done everything possible and its still not working.
I have had my router for a while and it has been working great because i have it all hooked up to my home computer. I am using a slinglink but it works when i am on the LAN computer, and i have already gone through the process of checking the box for remote access and making sure a port is open, everything has been the same and it has all been working and now it just stopped.
I am having the exact same problem. i have tried everything i could think of with no luck. The box works perfectly unless i try to access through my wireless network. Even works through a remote connection as long as it is LAN. I am running a LinkSYS WRT54GL. Does anyone have any suggestions?????
Add me to the list of people having this problem repeatedly. It requires a re-set either of the cable box or the Slingbox. The kind folks who are hosting my Slingbox reset it, but they're not always available and their patience might wear thin. A permanent fix would be much appreciated.

Hi, I'm getting the same problem here. The Slingbox is in the UK and I'm in Copenhagen with no remote viewing on a Laptop running Vista Home premium. My Windows firewall is turned off and McAfee firewall set to allow the Slingbox to communicate both ways. Setting up at home was 100% successful according to the process.
Remote viewing worked fine on my parents' PC back in the UK. It was running XP and NTL netguard security software. Didn't have to change any settings.
Anybody got any ideas? Is it Vista Home Premium? Should I alter my setup that I don't know about? I'm away from home four nights a week and the Slingbox isn't doing what I bought it for.
Many Thanks
I sorted the problem. Under Slingbox Properties > Connection > Direct Connection the box was ticked for remote connection. as soon as I unticked it all was fine. Picture is remarkably good at upload speed of 0.37 Meg from from home in UK. Good enough to show at full screen on the laptop in Denmark
.
All around damn good product
trying to set up new slingplayer after installation of Vista home premier. Doesn't work. Error code about firewall/nat. Worked with XP fine. Any suggestions? I am running System Mechanic 7 Pro as my firewall. I have disabled windows firewall. Help? anyone?
I just got my slingbox and get this error over my home network. Any help would be much appreciated.
I too am getting the same error code, but ONLY when I am trying to view remotely using my AT&T broadband card. The Slingbox Tech said AT&T is blocking the port I am using (5001). Of course AT&T says they only provide air time and to contact Sierra Wireless who manufactures the card. Sierra Wireless says they only manufacture the card and to call AT&T. What port is everyone else using? Apparently, I need to use something different than 5001. Thanks.
Mine works most of the time then suddenly stops. When I try to reconnect I get the error. If I wait a period of time and try again later its working again! This doesn;t sound like a configuration issue to me - more like some hardware locking up!
hi ,, i to have the same problem it drops the conection when i am away from home works great at home but you go away and bang nothing i love my tv and am going to poland soon if any one in england knows about all this would be grateful for help they may give me maria
I agree with DiverSteve. I will be watching slingbox remotely while I am in Russia, it is working great and then it suddenly stops. When I try to reconnect I get the error. Just like DiverSteve said, if I wait awhile I can reconnect and everything is perfect. This doesn't make it a reliable product. I plan on continuing to download a number of shows on IPOD. I want to be able to watch when I want to watch.
Mine has also suddenly started giving this error as well. Like many people I had experienced the Error code 0x8007274C, so have my modem/router/slingbox on a timer so that it reboots every night. Using that I have had no problem for months. Now suddenly I am getting this error, even though the system is being rebooted.
What is the difference between 'Error code 0x8007274D' and 'Error code 0x8007274C' anyway ? Anyone know ?
PLEASE HELP!!!
Add me to the list. My Slingbox classic was working great, I installed the update about a month ago and was having the best results ever.
Then all of a sudden this error appears.
I work for the gov't overseas so I rely on the Slingbox a lot.
