Most FTA Satellite receivers unfortunately are not supported.
This is surprising since the popularity of these devices has increased dramatically in the past few years. You can go to these links to get Sling Media to create "Official" IR Codes for these FTA Models:
Here are the links:

Canada

The ViewSat 2000 Series is not officially supported - but there are codes available from users who have taken the time to manually create them.
1. Go to this website and download the bin file for the ViewSat Device:
(There are a few to pick from, start with the "S2047_PL.BIN" file:
www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?...
2. Copy the bin file to the SBAV Folder - For example:
C:\Program Files\Sling Media\SlingPlayer\SBAV\
If the file name is "S2047_PL.BIN" then you copy that file to the folder above, and in the manual setup of SlingPlayer, in the IR Remote section, enter this in the Other Box: S2047
Note:
Sling Media has a vew different IR Blaster versions PL Should work on most, if it doesn't there is another code available, such as the "S2046" version which has three different versions of IR Sensors. *Remember to only copy one BIN FILE at a time - try and then remove it and add the other. DO NOT have more than one bin file in the SBAV Folder that use the same name.
Did anyone get the right bin to work with the Viewsat2000. Any help will greatly appreciate. I can be reach at adlere@gmail.com
The codes posted here for viewsat work perfectly for my plat. and ultra. Aleko has stated how to set it up which is the exact way. but i do have all the codes in the sbav folder...the original ones plus the viewsat for a total of six codes.
Ramrod, thanks for clearing up information on hooking up the remote codes. Thank you to Aleko as well! Yuor instructions were very precise and after many months of frustration I finally have the remote for my slingbox! Thanks guys !!!

Let me help you guys. Place both IR remote cable end on top of the Vewsat box. one by the power button the other by the channel numbers,
Go to C:\Program Files\Sling Media\SlingPlayer\SBAV and drop the S2046_PL in the folder. Keep the SBAV-RV and the SBAV-PL files (only 3 files should be in the folder).
Launch the Sling Player >> select edit
Go to Slingbox Configuration >> Audio/Video Setup
Click next >> USA >> Select your connection >>
Select your audio/Video Setting >> Select Cable Box >>
Select Other (not in the list) >> enter S2046_PL
Change the IR Signal speed to Medium.
NOW test the remote. Hope your Vewsat shutdown.
Next >> Next >> finish >> OK
I am glad I found this post! Hey will this work for me? I just bought a slingbox solo (hd) and want to hook it up to my viewsat ultra. I noticed this file was for the slingbox pro and viewsate extreme, but maybe it would work? Thanks
Good to see we"re getting the remote codes installed for the Viewsat. i believe the codes would work for all the slingboxes, as any Viewsat remote will basically work any Viewsat.

simon Head said: What do you do if you are working with a Mac? As far as I can see there is no SBAV folder on my mac.. I am frustratedNot familiar with mac but if it has a search option as windows does, use it to search for SBAV. if it is there, it will be found. with windows, all the sling info is installed to a "sling media" folder in program files. the sbav folder is located there.
there is no sbav on a mac also I am not sure but I don't think those bins will work on a mac even if there was a place to put the bin. I am running a nfusion and there is no ir remote code for it either. I found cable box 36 works the power menu and guide controls as well as the numbers so at least I can use the sling box remotley

simon Head said: hey I found where the SBAV Folder isI am using the 2047 for the remote...does pretty good.
on the mac if you control click the app..choose show package contents...you will get the 'contents folder'..open this ...then control click the setup assistant ,show package contents..you will get the 'contents folder' open this , and in there you will find the SBAV folder copy or drag the bin over to this folder, go back to set up and choose the 'other (not on this list)' type in the bin code and tah dah!!
There was one posting from a guy that helped me out with this one..sorry I can't remember his name
There is one small glitch with the testing internet connection part..It tried the automatic set up and failed...yet it still worked from where I work...
I am successfully using my Viewsat free to air reciever...one day maybe someone could make a better remote with the Function keys.. thanks Simon
