I am having a strange problem with Slingplayer in Windows Vista.

When I try to view a video feed, all of the colors are off; the image is a weird hue, green and purple. It seems like all of the red has been stripped from the image.

This problem didnt happen when I first installed Slingplayer on my laptop w/ Vista, it just started all of the sudden, and I am not sure what changed. I tried reinstalling Slingplayer, but that didnt fix it.

I have tried connecting to the same Slingbox from a Mac OS X computer, and the colors are fine.

I have also tried both the S-Video input and the composite input, and the color problem occurs with both.

My slingbox (a slingbox av) has what I think is the most up to date firmware, 1.09.

Has anyone had similar problems? Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. Did you ever figure this out?

I have the same problem on my Vista Home Premium laptop, was working okay until i installed drivers for my Hauppauge WinTV Nova T tuner card, then the funny colour.

Reinstalled both the slingplayer and latest driver only and full for the Nova, and still the same problem.

Must be a clash because installed on a second laptop and all is well....

Did you guys play with some of the video settings? I've seen something like this before, and I think disabling VMR9 fixed the problem. Try some of those settings and post back.

Mine had a yellowish/greenish tint to it. I'm running Vista Ultimate. Rebooting the Slingbox cleared up the issue. Was odd.

Hey everyone. I am having the same problem and have been in contact with James at sling media. He was not able to figure out the problem. He sent an e-mail to the engineers and will bring up the subject at the next meeting. I will keep you all updated on a solution.

Hey guys/gals,

We were having this same problem running Windows Vista and the latest software.  After following the advice above and turning off VMR in the Slingplayer properties, the green/purple color is now gone and the video looks fine.

Thanks!

Your Resolution is to High, back it down and the colors will be fine. Also check the Bits lower the but rate if it doesn't come back from just the resolution.

I had the same problem earlier. Re-run the video tuning wizard and pick some different settings.

I also have this problem has anyone figured out what causes it? I am using it primarily on a vista home premium laptop and it has the purple hue problem but when I installed the software on my windows XP pro sp2 computer everything works great. If anyone has an answer to this I would appriciate it. Thanks in advance.

I am also having this problem and it has to do with the VMR9 setting .. if I have it off I don't get the weird collors but everything looks so over pixalated that its pretty much unwatchable. Has anyone figured out how to fix this yet? My upload speed is 768kb/s at home where my sling box is so I can't see what its happening. I have a xp pro sp2 at work that it works just fine on so its just my vista laptop that has the problem.

I have SlingPlayer running on several systems without issue.

Installed on a desktop running WindowsXP Pro with an ATI All-in-wonder and had no blue.  Tunred off "When available use Video Mixing Rendering (VMR) technology" and the picture appears normal.

From what I have read to so far, this implies issues with the video overlay in the ATI board that probably need adjustment, the issue is with hardware acceleration.

I had an issue with pixelalation on my vista home premium 32 bit. I'm not sure if this helps but try enabling vista Areo to see if that helps.

Hi--I also have weird colour issues, everything has a green tint. Connection speeds are all fine. In addition, I cannot try to disable VMA in my SlingPlayer options--it is greyed out and says this option is not available in Vista.

I had this problem before on my vista home premium laptop. I was able to fix the color issue by downloading the most recent driver for my video. Check your manufacturers website for the most recent drivers. If that doesn't work try who ever makes your video drivers web site. I had to actually download the drivers from intel. Hp did not have the drivers that I needed to fix my issue. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it didn't work....

Have the same problem
I have 2 laptops that both run vista, with almost the same specs.
When i run the sling player on one of them it works fine the other one
the picture has a green purple color to it.

Have tried:
1. Restarting slingbox
2. Reinstalling the player
3. Updating the slingbox
4. Updating drivers on laptop

If anyone has anymore input on how to fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The drivers on the HP site didn't make a difference had to go to the intel website to get the newest drivers and it worked perfectly

Thanks
