Hi kiwin, Your skin with custom keys are great addition to customize the SlingRemote. I successfully configured and have now 39 keys operational. However I still can't get the "Menu" button to be active using your JP1 skin. Also I don't see how I can map learned buttons to the 4 buttons below the Select wheel. I am using the latest version of the RemoteMaster v1.82, ir.exe v7.09 and remote control used 8910. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you, Wilson
This skin adds Buttons on the SlingPlayer Remote that map to the Custom entries that JP1 creates when the “circle” buttons are used. Without this skin, the “custom” functions only appeared in the remote menu under “Custom”.

Unzip file to create a new directory "kiwin" in C:\Program Files\Sling Media\SlingPlayer\Skin\
See README in kiwin directory.
See notes marked “-kiwin” inside of “Skin.xml” to customize the SlingRemote button text or location.
Information on using JP1 with SlingPlayer is here:

The mappings are a bit convoluted.
Have you checked the "Buttons" tab in Remotemaster to make sure a Function is assigned to those buttons. You may find this maaping file helpful: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4429
Occasionally I had trouble doing all of the mappings, you can try assigning a different custom key (ie, using one of the 39 keys that are working) in Skin.xml and making the new mapping in RM.
kiwin,
Great. I double checked your keycode table and now the "MENU" button is working, also I am sharing with you and others what was/is wrong.
In RemoteMaster what is missleading is the "layout" tab showing the button labeled "MENU" not representing correctly visually the same location and name as your JP1 Custom and SlingPlayer Red Line skins since is not mapped to "Menu" but rather "Setup".
Not Working: MENU (jp1 kiwin)---> Menu (RemoteMaster buttons tab)
Working: MENU (jp1 kiwin)---> Setup (RemoteMaster buttons tab)
All that I need to find out now is the mapping of the 4 buttons (JP1 skin), above the GUIDE and EXIT buttons. If you know I appreciate, otherwise I can go through trial and error to discover what is the match between your keys and RemoteMaster. It would be easier to identify if these keys had visually a label or pop up text
Thank you again for your hard work in making this happen
I did a specific example for a Panasonic DVR in:
http://www.slingcommunity.com/forum/thread/11930/NEED-CODE-FOR-PANASONIC-DMR-...
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4411
In Skin.xml, look for:
<Control id="id.remote.custom.01" type="button" backgroundID="img.btn.keypad" foregroundID="img.remote.pad.blu" x="020" y="178" cx="56" cy="30"/>
<Control id="id.remote.custom.02" type="button" backgroundID="img.btn.keypad" foregroundID="img.remote.pad.red" x="060" y="178" cx="56" cy="30"/>
<Control id="id.remote.custom.03" type="button" backgroundID="img.btn.keypad" foregroundID="img.remote.pad.grn" x="100" y="178" cx="56" cy="30"/>
<Control id="id.remote.custom.04" type="button" backgroundID="img.btn.keypad" foregroundID="img.remote.pad.yel" x="140" y="178" cx="56" cy="30"/>
Which map the four color buttons to custom.01 through custom.04
In the file "Panasonic DMR-EH55-070402a.rmdu" for use with JP1 Remote Master, on the Buttons tab, you can see the four color button functions are mapped to some PIP buttons... i found that by trial and error.
I documented this in:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4429
Hope this helps... sorry for the delay.
regards, kiwin
kiwin,
I understand and thank you for your reply. At the moment I am without my JP1 cable. However the last time I was trying to map I believe the following is true:
Mapping:
Blue (kiwin skin)--> custom01 (kiwin buttons )--> PIP (remotemaster button)
Red (kiwin skin)--> custom02 (kiwin buttons )--> PIP-Format (remotemaster button)
Green (kiwin skin)--> custom03 (kiwin buttons )--> PIP Freeze (remotemaster button)
Yellow (kiwin skin)--> custom04 (kiwin buttons )--> PIP Swap (remotemaster button)
Note: I will verify for sure once I can program and test with the new binary file.
Question:
I noticed in the "kiwin" folder there are several .TIF and .BMP files not used with your skin. Are some of these files extra and not needed? Would you know what are all the files used.
I need help with the bin file that I have created. I have put my file into the SBAV folder but the software will not let me use the next button after I type in the name of the file. can anyone give me an idea of what i'm doing wrong?
scotlamulk,
Did you create the binary with the correct file for your box? Most slingboxes use "PL.bin"
Hey ... this helped me to get the sling remote working with my set top boxes over here in Germany. Nevertheless, a question is left:
in other skins, I can change the video screen to a "non framed window" by clicking into the video area. In this screen, this does not work. Is there any trick to make this working again?
Regards from Germany,
Friedhelm
salinok,
It should work frameless.
SlingPlayer: View--> Window Mode--> Full Screen or ALT+ Enter
Once in full screen mode, make sure you move the mouse cursor away (towards the right side) until disappears of the screen and you should have full screen "frameless".

Hi Wilson,
yepp ... "fullscreen frameless" works, but:
if the video screen is not in fullscreen mode, the frames don´t go away ... I would love to have the ability to put a small screen in the corner of my desktop - without frames around it.
salinok,
I am current using SlingPlayer 1.4 and don't have the capability to go frameless with small screen. Are you using SlingPlayer 1.5?
