I got this same "unable to communicate" error today.  This has been running fine.

I am running SlingPlayer 1.0.2.145 on my MacBook (10.4.8).  When I swing the ethernet over to my windows machine, I am able to find and connect.

Any ideas?

Same here with Imac. General Problem???

I got it too on my MacBook Pro at the office. I just changed ISPs yesterday, so I'm happy to find out that's not the cause. I was able to use the Direct Connection with no problem though. I already had a dyndns.org address set up for my IP at home. Hope it's resolved soon.

It looks like Sling had a hiccup with the Finder server - seems to be back, is it working again for all of you?

-MegaZone, Sling Media Beta Manager
Slingbox Pro, HD Connect, TiVo Series3, TiVo Pioneer DVR-810H, SPM Treo 680, SP WinXP
(I also run GizmoLovers.com)

It's working for me.

Just curious, why is the hiccup with the the Finder Server only affect the mac clients?  Is there a different server dedicated for each OS type?

Hello, Just got "knocked off" when the Mac beta version expired. I have upgraded the software and now the software is unable to connect. Question; is it is a server issue or does my slingbox need some reconfiguration?

Anyone else having the same problem?

I had the same problem with the Finder ID server. Got it solved using a connection with the IP and port number configuration. It looks like the server is now back on.

I am also getting "Unable to Connect" on my LAN using an IP address and port. I havn't been able to try it away from home yet. FIXED: Well I don't know what it was, but I went and deleted my preference from the previous install and now it seems to be working.
