I been working on my remote access for a few days now and have not clue. I have done both manual and automatic remote access setup and I have used the direction given on the slingmeda site for linksys and still I get nothing. Really I am also having trouble with my girlfriends as well. I did the automatic on her and the manual on mine and nothing seams to work. If I do automatic on my sling box I get a message saying "can't find NAT or not working or server can't be found. I have never had this problem before and feel really lost.

You just need to know the IP address and port of the Slingbox, then go to the Port Forwarding screen on the Linksys and add a rule to forward that port from the public side to the Slingbox's IP and port internally.

If that doesn't work, something else is amiss.

I go to linksys and click on security and disable "Block Anonymous Internet Requests" and then I went to "Games/Applications and inserted I sling box info in the "Port Range Forward" with the IP addressed sign by linksys that I found in "local netowrk in Status" and then inserted 5001. Is there other filters I need to disable or enable that is not being listed anymore? MegaZone for replying. I gave my AV slingbox to my girlfriend and set it up at her place. I rested the box and followed the steps on Slingmedia support page for remote access. Is there something with linksys wireless G I need to do that the support page is not telling me.

When you say the IP address you found in 'local network status' - it is the Slingbox's IP, right? If you mean you went into Status -> Local Network, the IP address listed there (usually 192.168.1.1 on Linksys) is the *router's* LAN address. If you go into Status -> Device List, that will be the devices on the LAN and one of them should be a slingbox. Normally it'll be 192.168.1.237.

I guess I am a little confused. I go to "Status" then I click on "local network" and then lick on "DHCP Clients Table" It brings up a new window of all the devices that are connected to the router giving it IP address and MAC Info. Is this the right place to get the info? I do not get and Ip address ending with 237.

If the Slingbox is using DHCP, then it will be in that table too - what was the Client Host Name? Was it 'Slingbox'?

The host name is My Slingbox but I named my slingbox another name in my slingbox setup and I named my slingbox in the linksys application/games as "Slingbox. Does that make a difference?
