Has anyone had problems with the VIP 622 remote control and the Slingbox AV?  I am properly able to see audio and video, but cannot control the Slingbox with the 'right' remote control.  When I try another Echostar remote (Other, Code 7), I am actually able to control the box, but it doesn't have all the functionality of the VIP 622 remote.  Has anyone else had problems with this particular remote?  How were the problems solved?

Do you have Dish Vip 622 DVR...i had the same issue and i fixed using this remote contol let me show you....you may go to the slingbox then properties then audio/video then choose usa bla bla then choose Satellite or free to air receiver then next then Echostar DISH then next and now scroll the way up ...and choose DISH (remote address 2)...it must work

what if that did not work...any other advice?  the only one that is working so far is "Other" and code 7 but that generates a generic Dish remote control that does not allow me to control my DVR

We are having the exact same problem.  I tried SlingAll's fix, but it didn't work.  All that works for me is 'Other--code 7' as well, but it doesn't replicate the VIP622 remote.

I received the following from Sling Support, but cannot make heads or tails of it:

____

Thank you for contacting Sling Media support.

Your device is probably not on it's default code. In which case it is
not supported unless it is on control code 1 (default).

Talk to the manufacturer about the IR code and see if it can be changed
back.
____

Does anyone know how to change the 'default code'??

Hello,
Today we were finally able to solve this problem.  By speaking simultaneously to someone in advance support at Dish Network as well as someone at Slingbox, we got it working.  Here is what the problem was:  Apparently the devices (both the slingbox and the dish receiver) operate on channels called receiver codes.  Its almost like radio channels they told me.  The slingbox operates on receiver code one.  Somehow, my dish receiver was operating on receiver code 9 so I had to change the dish receiver to code 1.  Here is how I did it (I think!  I was so excited when it worked that I wrote it down after the fact so if this doesn't work, I apologize, but someone at Dish should be able to help you do it!).  From the primary remote/remote 1 (if you have a dual receiver), press menu twice.  You will see System Info and toward the bottom, it shows the Primary (and secondary) Remote  Address.  There is a white box that has the receiver code. As I said, mine said 9 and it needs to say 1.  To change it, follow these steps:
*Hold down the Sat key (upper left of the dish remote) until all the buttons at the top light up.  Let go of the key.
*Press 1, then pound key, then record.
*Press the Sat key again.  The white box next to Primary Remote Address should now read 1.
Exit the menu and try your slingbox control again.  It worked immediately for me.
Again, if my directions for changing the address are incomplete, call Dish and explain what you need to change and ask for advanced support to do it.
Good luck!

Arickson77, you are fantastic!  Thanks for suffering through several hours of support calls!  Your solution was perfectly documented and took me all of 60 seconds to work through.

Am I to understand correctly that if I wanted to use the TV2 output as another connection on Slingbox Pro (so coould still watch some items when others home watching Dish) that I will not be able to do this because the Remote that controls TV2 (blue instead of green in my case) is not IR?  I could not even build a basic one to change channels, since Dish box TV2 will not respond to any IR signal?

I don't know if this is because I may be running a different update on my VIP 622 DVR, but I have found that the precise steps listed in this thread are not accurate for my system.  Here's the steps I worked out with Dish Tech Support:

1. Push System Info button on box
2. Using the remote you want to adjust, press and release SAT once
3. Press RECORD 3 times
4. Press and hold SAT until all lights light up
5. Release SAT and SAT should be blinking
6. Using the number pad on the remote, enter the desired number (between 1 and 15)
7. Press # once
8. Press RECORD once (note that the channel number associated with the desired remote is changed to the number entered in step 6)
9. Exit System Info
EDITOR'S NOTE: Up to this point, you've just programmed the receiver to listen for signals from a specific remote on a specific channel.  To complete the process, you now need to program the remote to send its signals on the correct channel.  To do so:
10. Repeat steps 4-7
11. Test the remote's functions on the TV to which it is associated (I clarify that you should test on the associated TV because the VIP 622 DVR allows Split View mode, a mode in which two displays can show two different programs from the same receiver)

Hope this helps.
