Um, Slingplayer works fine in Vista. Yes the bells & whistles version for Aero Glass is delayed but that hasn't changed my ability to enjoy my Sling Player one bit.

So first it was "end of 2nd quarter 2007" now it's "end of 2007". Wow. I'm losing confidence in Slingmedia by the day. I'm starting to wonder if the demos that were posted online were only "smoke and mirrors" - especially considering there's not even an option to preview the Beta.

Actually, Slingplayer runs like crap in Vista. Or I should say that it makes everything else run like crap. It hoggs the system resources like crazy. Everything moves slow when it is on. This didn't happen to me with XP.
As for the "aero" crap, who cares. I turned all that mickey mouse stuff off anyway.
It works fine for me in Vista. Where did you find information which states that it is delayed until the end of 2007? Please post that.

I keep forgetting that every piece of software runs exactly the same on every computer/mobile device...
Slinging Tivo Series 2, Tivo HD, and TW cable from a Pro. Slinging Tivo HD from a Solo, Slinging Humax DRT800, and TW cable from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, AT&T SX66, N62, 8525, and Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO over Windstream DSL.
Frankly it's pure BS.
Get our intrest with a piece of vaperware and Sharon is no where for over a month. If I was told this from the get go I would have kept working on my gadget. I am highly disappointed with Sling Media. More and more I think Orb is the way to go.
Why get all upset? I am still waiting for the origional poster to post a link as to where he saw an announcement that the date has changed to "end of 2007".

Orb doesn't even compare to sling. Sling is hardware that is independant of a computer. It puts orb to shame. Sling is the best. I just have a problem with the way it runs in vista. That being said, many things run like crap in vista.
My only complaint with slingplayer under vista is that it sometimes takes a very long time to start up. I kill the process in task manager and start it up again, and it works fine. It could certainly use some work.
I don't care about the sidebar or aero or any of that stuff, but basic functionality is compromised, and that I do care about.
There is a note under the SlingPlayer for Vista page:
Note: SlingPlayer for Windows Vista will be available at the end of 2007.
