Hi JeremyT (if you are still surfing around these boards)

Any chance we could get another update like you gave us in March of last year? There seem to be a few of us awaiting news of a Blackberry release for our 8800 series. I'll admit, I had a Windows mobile phone, but it crashed more then Lindsay Lohan... terrible OS! The only thing I miss is the Sling compatability..... any updates would be much appreciated.

Oh... and my commidore 64 is fired up and waiting.

I want to add my request here for a SlingMobile for the BlackBerry!  I'm about to start a new job where a blackberry is required.  It just now hit me that if I switch to a blackberry from my Q, I won't have Sling!! ARRGGGHHHHCry!  In my new line of work, there will be times where Sling will take the edge off of a lot of waiting time!! And with the new 8800 series out, pariticularly, the 8830 from Verizon, it'd be perfect!

Please, Sling, can we please get an update, a "it's coming" or a "never gonna happen" (say it ain't so)...or something!! I know many of us would appreciate it!!

Thanks!

Can you please let me know if the newest blackberry Curve /8300 will be SLingbox-able.. How do stress to sling that we all need it on Blackberry... Had it on my treo 750 and now have blackberry to find it will not work

July 12, 2007 4:09 PM

I'd say if we all bombard Sling with requests, that shoudl get it. I'm finding that it's almost certain that I'll be getting a new 8300 from Verizon, since it's an EvDO Blackberry and considered Multimedia.  I sure don't want to lose my ability to use my Sling on Mobile!

any idea how we can push this to slingbox, it appears these strings have been going on for over a year and nothing from slingbox yet

As i said in the previous post, let's bombard Sling itself.  Maybe tech support AND their sales email.  I'm going to start doing that this weekend.

We appreciate your enthusiasm and we know the interest is out there. In fact many of us are Blackberry users and this is something we're looking into. However, bombarding our Support line won't speed up our research and will actually divert resources from folks who need assistance. Thanks for understanding. How about collecting signatures in a forum thread as an alternate method to indicate the amount of demand for a Blackberry client? We do monitor the Sling Community very closely.

Thanks, Dave!  I didn't literally mean bombard!  Wink  Glad to know it's being checked into. Is there any ROUGH idea how soon it may be or anything?  ANYTHING?  Throw us a scrap?!! (big grin)

I apprecaite it and thanks for watching the boards here.  It's apprecaited!

I'm switching to a Blackberry as well.  It has been 6 months since anyone from Sling Media has commented on this topic.

 News?

We're currently demo-ing SlingPlayer Mobile on the Pearl 8120, and expect to support additional handsets at launch.

I have used Sling on my Treo since it was beta on my 700p.  Then I upgraded to 700w.  Now my work has moved everyone to Blackberry, more stable OS.

I am missing my Sling client and want it for my BB 8830 on Sprint.  When will this be available via beta testing?  There seems to be a large market for this but I have not heard/seen anything.

 Please let me know.

Any idea if the main stay units are going to deployed?  like the 8700 series.  Many of those out in the workplace.

Dave, do you have any kind of a ballpark estimate as to when in 2008 the Blackberry will be available?  Thanks

I posted in iPhone about this but is part of the Blackberry problem the service providers pushing back about the bandwidth used for SlingPlayer. Don't get me wrong I have two players, own it on my Treo 700p and on many computers. I also am getting ready to switch to the Blackberry Curve on Verizon and am going to miss my SlingPlayer.
The irony of course is I can use the phone as a modem for my laptop and watch it there.
