Funny, just today I have the same problem. I connect okay I get up to 186/187 k streaming and then nothing happens. I also am connecting wireless. I have this posted in a different topic so I won't get into it to much here, jsut confirming that another wireless user can't get past the slow streaming to get a picture. I don't think it matters but I am over in France at the moment.
Hi,
I'm trying to remote view.
I can connect to my box no problem.
When I connect from my hotel room via wireless to the WWW I just get a blank screen, no sound, the notification to say that the system is streaming and the statistics reading of 1Kbps.
However, when I connect from my temporary office via cabel to the LAN and then WWW I get a picture.
Does anyone know of setting alteration that will allow me to get picture and sound via the wireless connection?
Thanks,
Tom.
Sounds like your hotel room doesn't have the bandwidth to support streaming. Do a speed test and see what your bandwidth is.
Slinging with a SlingCatcher, a ProHD, a Pro, a Solo, an AV, and a Slingbox Classic. 3 Replay TV units, a Roku Photobridge and a Roku M2000 Soundbridge, an AppleTV, a Vudu, and digital cable. www.na9d.net
Rox / NA9D,
Thank you both for the feedback. I've performed speed tests using the Rioplex on-line test (158kbps) and the DSLOne online test (37.37kbps)... not exactly lickety-split. Such diverse results are a little frightening. I suppose the slower result is probably the more accurate...
... It probably doesn't help that I'm in Mexico and the box is in Ireland. I feel a hotel switch coming on.
Rgds, Tom.
Okay I feel sooooooo dumb. My daughter checked on the Slingbox and the problem was that the DVR box from the cable company was turned off. Perhaps I accidently turned it off with the remote control shown on my computer monitor or perhaps they had a break in electric but anyway, turned back on the Cable DVR box and I'm back to slinging. Hope this might help other people.
