So, I ordered the SlingBox Pro with the HD Connect Cable included for $179. (I hear the offer has since expired.) It arrived yesterday, a day earlier than expected, and I was seriously psyched.
Much to my dismay, however, the HD Connect Cable was missing from the package!
I've contacted Sling twice now (once by phone yesterday, and once by web support today), and hopefully I'll be receiving my HD Connect Cable soon.
Has anyone else around here experienced the same problem? I'm curious to know how many other bundle sales were missing their cable.
Did the packing slip say backordered? Order only showed the Pro? Error in packing??
Slinging Tivo Series 2, Tivo HD, and TW cable from a Pro. Slinging Tivo HD from a Solo, Slinging Humax DRT800, and TW cable from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, AT&T SX66, N62, 8525, and Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO over Windstream DSL.
The packing slip doesn't mention anything about a backorder. It does mention a "US Web" offer, but doesn't specify that it's the HD Connect offer. /shrug
I got a reply from Sling Store support, saying they don't have a tracking number for me at this time.
I'm still curious to know if anyone else didn't get their dongle, though. (Yeah, you heard me, I said "dongle".)
I do have one prediction, however. I wouldn't be surprised if they are coming out with a new version of the Pro, either with the HD Connect dongle included in the box, or a new Pro with the HD connectors built in (HDMI and/or Component). Other product manufacturers do that kind of thing all the time as a way of getting rid of older inventory.
Edited to add: I can say that I definitely paid the correct price for the HD Connect offer -- $179 plus shipping. The price is now back to $249 for the Pro, plus $49.99 for the HD Connect.
I got the same deal as you....that NHL special they had. They sent me both the slingbox pro and HD connect.

What did your invoice/packing slip say?
