I have two TiVos, plus a digital cable box.

I have a SlingBox AV connected to the TiVo in my bedroom, and a SingBox Pro connected to the TiVo and digital cable box in my family room.

I want to put a SlingCatcher in my bedroom so I can watch my digital cable channels there without leasing another box, and watch TiVo programs from the family room TiVo in my bedroom without having to deal with the slow transfer rate between TiVos.

How do you plan on using yours when you get it?

I want to put a 15" TV in my bathroom, but I don't have room for another box, nor do I want to pay for one.  Plus, I don't have cable in my bathroom.

In the garage or on the back porch, connected to an older TV I don't use much anymore.

That and in hotels when I travel.

my view is  that  some  reason  don't work out  $ wise when thinking about it

1)  save on rental of cable box  -  cable box rental vs.  $200   seems like you can rent the box a long time

2)  no  cable in the place I want the TV.  -  seems like for $200  you can get a cable run their

I do see where access to a TIVO/DVR  having some value that is not easy to make up for $200

I'm going to get one when they are available but I'm viewing it as a neat toy to play with.
