Sounds like you may not know what the Slingbox does.
It hooks up to whatever you have in your house, like Cable, Dish, DVD, etc and "slings" that to you.

Are you thinking it hooks to the internet and streams TV from it, if so you need something else to do that.

Have a Sansa device or MP3 player, then check out The latest!

you looking for legal IPTV as there are some system but they are pay TV systems.

The sling does not give you anything by itself.

My sling is hooked into several satellites so I can watch them wherever I am. These are pay systems.

The good things in life are free.... some things you just have to pay for!!!

Yes, that's what i am looking for a legal IPTV where i have to pay or whether i can have a free tv systems.  I have already KNOW about slingbox and sateillite tv.

Well Stephen I dont think you do know a lot as the sling needs a system to feed from. So the DSTV Satellite with Supersports still needs a dish where the sling and receiver are.

Secondly forum rules do not allow links to other sites or to sites that host slingbox servers. I think google is your best friend here.

I have a friend who watches the DSTV Supersports in Argentina. Along with another satellite package that gives him Aussie Rules.

Read through the forums as most of the info you need has already been posted.

I'm sorry, but you first post says that the slingbox doesn't need a dish.

Yes if you know somebody running a server then you wont need a dish as long as they let you sign up to their service.

Read through the forums and educate yourself. Sling can also be connectedd to a cable box, analog cable or an antenna if your desperate, I suppose. Mine is connected to a comcast cable box.

Thats okay. DO NOT worry. As long i'm happy to know what you get, i just hope you can send me a list of servers where i can watch tv on slingbox????????????

jfitzpa503,  yes I do know about this. DO NOT come on this forum and ask me to educate myself. ADSL and cable need the wire to connect to the net and they also need to connect to the sling box to receive the picture!!!!!

You needs to educate yourself of how will the sling box works and the net. I just come here and asked for help where I can find servers to watch many live channels through on the net!!!!!  I feel that sling box is bit like a satellite really, anyway if you cannot post any info on here what sites I can run sling box through a server, PLEASE contact via PM.

Stephen, where are you from/living and where do you want to get TV from?

You cannot use the SlingBox to receive TV channels, you use it to sling (hence the name) the TV signal from your home, be it satellite, cable, terrestrial or IPTV. Similarly, the SlingCatcher (when it finally comes out) can only be used for viewing channels streamed from your SlingBox.

There are sites that stream live TV channels online, some of which are pay services like Jump TV, but you would watch those on your PC, not using a SlingBox. There are IPTV services, but these are closed systems - you can only use them with that ISP in that country. You could connect your IPTV set top box to a SlingBox, and then watch it remotely.

We would all love to be able to get any TV channel in the world we want just by going online, but rights holders don't feel the same way. Sling has tried to keep on the right side of the law, by ensuring that only one person can access TV from a SlingBox.

I am from the united kingdom and i would love to get tv anywhere across to the world. I do know what slingbox is and i am NOT even stupid, slingbox is tv signal where i can get channels like on satellite. DO NOT ask stupid questions where i got this correct in the first place!

I would love you to pass on via PM the list of the sites that stream live tv channels online so i could watch on my slingbox via as a satellite tv. Please can you pass on some sites info via PM??????????????????

I only got one so far but i know there must be loads out there!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

The slingbox itself is not a TV signal. It can be hooked up to cable TV or a digital cable tv stb. It can also be hooked up to a satellite receiver and if that receiver can stream one or more dishes you can get whatever may be added to the receiver.

It is not necessarily possible to be able to add many providers together unless you have combinations of free to air channels as well as pay channels.

Please read the forum rules here. It is not allowed for links to hosting sling sites to be given.

Also the sling has to be where the source is located. So if you wanted US content your sling would have to be in the USA. You would view and control the sling with software on your side.

IF you wanted content from Asia the sling would have to be attached to devices there, same for outside of the UK in Europe.

There are two or 3 commercial operators with sling hosting services around the world.

Nobody has called you stupid so you need not be so agressive in your posts. The forum members here are just doing there best to explain what a sling does, which is nothing by itself.

Obviously you have recognised the screen shots I posted as being from DSTV South Africa Superports channels.

The question to obtaining many packages is what language programming content do you want and how much are you willing to pay to get it.  There are many free to air channels but also many packages are pay packages that cost US$100 per month or more in subscription fees.

Just take the top SKY UK packages which costs close to that.

Yes Ken that is true. In our private discussions we have discussed this already.

I alos get Armed Forces Network on a Powervu decoder. Ordinarily these are only available to those working on a branch of the US government.

However I have managed to get one and it's activated on NSS6 95E in Asia.

The US sports  I can get on that are more than I get from other satellites. However there is one satellite at 168E that streams live feeds of US sports everyweekend and are free to air. These are the raw feeds so there are no commercials and have great content too. Just not a reliable system for my customers who would complain there is not much else on these satellites the other 5 days of the week lol.

There is nothing stupid in asking you where you are from or living, nor where you want TV from. It appears that while you live in the UK, English is not your first language, which would suggest that you might want TV channels in a language other than English.

You might well be able to use the SlingCatcher to watch video from the Internet on your TV (see this article) but not SlingBox.
