The v1.0.3 update is recommended for all SlingPlayer for Mac v1.0 users. This update includes many audio performance and quality improvements and also adds some new virtual remotes and a new version of firmware for your Slingbox. There are also some UI fixes and general bug fixes.

The most apparent enhancement is the improved audio quality during optimization.

I updated the application and firmware. However, after the firmware was written to my SlingBox Pro, I got some sort of message that it didn't update the SlingBox. Yet when I checked the info on the Slingbox Pro, it shows that the firmware was updated to version 1.0.25. Everything seems to work properly, but the message was rather unnerving. I was only half paying attention to my computer while it was updating the SlingBox firmware, but three steps took place. My MacBook Pro was sending blocks to the SlingBox, then the Slingbox was installing them (it completed), then there was a third step where something was going on but it aborted with an error message. I just can't remember exactly what is said.

Well, if you get any problems I would do a complete uninstall and reinstall the program

funny, I hadn't done an update in about a month, and my player said, "you must update"

Should that really happen?

OK, this the story. The older Verizon remote skin is missing from the NEW Mac Player. So I went to my other Mac that has NOT been updated and dug into the OLDER Mac player by right clicking on the Sling Application -> Show Package Contents -> Contents -> Resources -> Remote and copied the verizon.spr file to my desktop. I added it to the same location on the new SlingPlayer app on my other Mac that has been updated by the new player and all is back and well. Thanks for your help as I forgot that the remote skins are in the player not the firmware. You might want post this solve somewhere to help others that will upgrade the new player that have FiOS. This Verizon Remote skin is not perfect, as it is the older remote but is the best skin right now!
