Sling Media is giving away a bunch of Slingbox Classics autographed by baseball great Tony La Russa, and it's pretty easy to win. If you're a Slingbox owner, post a short video of you using your Slingbox to any video sharing site, social network, or personal web page, then e-mail the link to Slingshots@echosports.com.
Share your video with the SlingCommunity by posting a link to your video below. YouTube videos can be embedded right into your post by clicking the YouTube button in the toolbar, and adding your TouTube video code (only the code, not the whole embed link) into the box, and post. It's that easy.

I would not be - there are over 17000 registered members of the SlingCommunity web sites. Even more have purchased SlingBoxes and gather their information via the SlingMedia site. In addition, the contest was open for 5 days before any mention of it was made on the SlingCommunity site.
There was no requirement that a posting be made on the SlingCommunity site - only the email being sent to Echosports. It would be very easy for 75+ entries to have beem made.

Holy Cow!!!! Phil Rizzuto...Slingbox and Tony La Russa just sent me an Autographed Slingbox....
It arrived this morning, Aug. 22nd....
It arrived unannounced and really unmarked other than just my name and address...
So there is still hope slingers...they are on their way....

Also just received mine via UPS this afternoon and had received no prior indication or communication that I was a winner. Thank you Sling!

I just received mine via UPS. Came packed nicely, with a letter about winning it, and, of course the SlingBox itself, with autograph. Pretty CEWL!!! I don't think the numbers on the boxes mean much, mine had 5696 on it in grease pen. Regardless, I won, and have a new Classic to go with my other one, and this one has full warranty to boot. WooHoo!!!

Unfortunately, I think I may have received a defective Slingbox
. I called the technicians but unfortunately they could not get my Slingplayer app to connect to the Slingbox, although they tried everything imaginable. Those guys really know what they're doing! Excellent customer service!
We verified that the wall-plug bridge was working, the router was picking up the slingbox, the slingplayer acknowledged a slingbox, but we were never able to get the picture on the Slingplayer.
My question is: Is it possible to get a replacement? Who do I need to contact? Maybe I can contact the director of corporate marketing & events (the person who wrote me that congratulatory letter). Does anyone know the person's email address?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Well, the same support that you called for help from SlingMedia is who you should call for a replacement. Per the letter that you received, the unit is under full warranty from Sling, just like you bought it new.

I was actually trying to get a hold of them but unfortunately I've was on hold for over an hour. That's why I decided to post here while I was waiting. I'll try to call them on Monday. Thanks for the information.

I was getting worried, but hooray, the Slingbox arrived today (Mon Aug 27). I didn't get a shipping confirmation notice, but it shipped from San Francisco on Aug 20. I entered 07/15/2007 11:51 pm.
