I assume you mean component inputs..

I'll make my predictions..

New box with component/HD inputs, probably sling HD on the LAN to a SlingCatcher, not on WAN.  Probably better quality than before though.

Shared AV input like the classic, useable for 3 devices if you need to.  Looking back I just noticed only 1 audio input so 1-3 devices..

Built in HD tuner on the coax input.

Maybe built in WiFi but I doubt it.  I still think it's a bad idea to build in WiFi, standards and speeds change..

Oh, and $199.99

Slinging Tivo Series 2, Tivo HD, and TW cable from a Pro. Slinging Tivo HD from a Solo, Slinging Humax DRT800, and TW cable from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, AT&T SX66, N62, 8525, and Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO over Windstream DSL.

My bad, yes that should have been component inputs. I also prefer no built in wifi on Slingboxes. Makes me wonder though how the output of this new Slingbox compares with the current PRO. If it is better I might get one.

Love it when the SlingCommunity scoops those guys, or did they get it from us. Foot in mouth

Did you not see my post on the front page of SC?
Do you think we need to highlight this news more so more people find it?

To answer your question it appears to be named PRO, what it will and might replace, only Sling Media knows at this time.

The problem is I never look at the front page...

Sure would.

I don't know anything about DSP processors. But here is a photo I found on it. Does it help any?

Nevermind.  Looks like pounce works for or knows someone who works for the FCC or a testing agency.

http://www.slingcommunity.com/forum/thread/22743/I-spy-slingbox-with-a-cable-modem-built-in/

Based on this and the FCC info it looks like a cable modem with built in SlingBox..

Notice that the ethernet cable seems to go from the box to the PC with no other visible network..

so basically, with a direct connection to a cable modem processing unit, we should see better quality?  With updates of the slingplayer not coming out everyday, obviously a slingbox cable modem would increase signal strenght, but what about an internet provider like verizon that uses a fiber connection that comes into your house with a CAT5, I guess there would be no need for a slingbox cable modem?

If it is a cable modem, would it make sense to lets say, have one at your slinging point, and one at your recieving point?

I am all for slingmedia making the picture quality better, so I am asking as many questions as possible as a new customer.

I recommend you watch this interview with Blake.

It's about 10-12 mins, but he addresses everything from HD to which Cell phone, Iphone or Blackberry, they are emphasizing first.

Very informative video... I am looking forward to "recording capability" and "streaming HD" content (Jan 2008).

I watched the video, I look forward to when Slingbox becomes a Cable provider VIA the internet, lets face it people, TV and Internet will become one entity in under 10 years.
