Umm, why don't you have a DVR or TiVo at your home TV? I watch recorded stuff that way with no problem..........except the FF and 30-second skip don't work very well.

Hi all,
I generally use my slingbox connections overseas usually England. While the concept is great the time difference and the fact you cannot record in any way isn't.
I was just wondering if there are any plans for a future release of slingbox to have a built in TiVo?

recording on the slingplayer from the slingbox is detered due to copyright infringment potential problems from studios. However short recording of "clips" are planned to be released wirth an addon called "clip and sling".
At any rate, why would they build a pvr/dvr into the slingbox. As it will control any existing customer supplied dvr/prv such as tivo, replay tv etc. If you want to record and watch later---I suggest you invest in a unit that does just that which the slingbox in return can then control.
Why not get Applian's At-Large Recorder - designed to record the SlingBox stream.
You will need a older version of the player. I do not have have a copy but you can find most of what you need in this thread:

You will also find a link to the older player that is needed to work with the At-Large Recorder.
Note that this is not a page I maintain - I just happen to see it posted on the forum and can point you to it. I downloaded it several months ago and had no problems at that time, but cannot vouch for its integrity at this time. I would encourage you to run virus checkers against any downloaded software.
