From This post here...

The NFL is nearing a deal with Sling Media Inc. to become the latest partner for the Clip+Sling video-sharing service, according to well-placed industry sources, giving the upstart technology firm a second major sports partner and a massive overall boost in exposure.

There was a thread here about that a couple days ago but I can't find it for the life of me now...

Slinging Tivo HD from a Pro HD, Tivo Series 2 with cable and DirecTV from a Pro, Tivo HD from a Solo, Humax DRT800 from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO, and a SlingCatcher over Windstream DSL.

I noticed today that Directv has a new feature for NFL Sunday Ticket Super Fan subscribers that allows them to view any NFL game live via their PC.  When I looked at the Directv webpage that gave the details regarding this new feature I saw the Sling Media logo on the page.  Anyone know if this is some kind of NFL Sling partnership or just Sling doing some adds.NFL - Sling Media

The above article mentions "Sling helping to power that".

Thanks I just read the Sporting Business article (did not see the link the first time)  so this is great news. Nothing like expanded picture in picture capabilities and more remote viewing.  Do you think they will have better then 500kbps upload speed on the NFL/Sling server? I hope you can watch the game via the NFL/Directv webpage and then have your regular Sling player going watching another game.

Great Forum by the way. Thanks to all that participate and to Sling for creating such a great product.

My first guess would be that they are using Sling's technology and will build it into their page.  Maybe since it's sort of a multicast it won't require outgoing bandwidth to each viewer, just one outgoing pipe for each game that multiple people can view??

I gotta think that this is part of a much bigger deal.  What do all media companies want....content!  Who has the most popular content out there, the NFL.  This could be a huge coup for SlingMedia.  I would venture to guess that long term this must have something to do with Sling Catcher as well.  The same time that the NFL signed with Sling they also signed with My Network Tv to do a Sat night show to "hype" people for Sunday.  We all know, The NFL is by no means stupid in how they do their business.

Slingbox ProHD Slinging Comcast cable and HD via Comcast HSI using AirLink Powerline adapters; Slingbox Pro and Classic Slinging Sunddenlink Cable and D* HR21 via Sunddenlink HSI, using Linksys Gaming adapter. 2 Slingcatchers set up to use Slings.

Anyone watch this supercast debut yesterday other than me? It was very nice once they got it going. Way to go SlingMedia.  Now where is that sling catcher? :)

I could never get logged in.  Directv's website said their servers had overwhelming demand and to try again later. The games ended before they would let me login. It was a dissapointment to say the least.

We're very excited to be collaborating with DirecTV on Supercast!

To clear up some of the confusion and address some of the questions I've seen across the blogosphere today, I thought I'd chime in with a few more details...

Supercast is an online destination provided to DirecTV's SuperFan subscribers. Each Sunday, most NFL games will be streamed live. In addition to the live games, replaybale game highlights plus real-time scores and stats are also provided. We at Sling are responsible for hosting the site and for the user interface - which we intend to further enhance as the season progresses. Technologically speaking, Supercast is purely a web-based service, requiring Internet Explorer within Windows. (I can tell you from first-hand experience it works great in Parallels too.) Supercast does not require a Slingbox or utilize our SlingStream technology.

Coming into work on a Sunday has never been more fun. Though I can't say watching my fantasy team stink it up was pleasant. My number one pick (Steven Jackson) has given me nothing.
