So I bought a new slinbox AV, and have a netgear wireless-g router connected to my modem.  The router works fine because it gives me wireless internet access on my laptop, as well as a wired internet access to my desktop.  When I connect my slingbox to the router and then turn the slingbox on, the power light is solid and stays that way, but the other two blink for about five seconds and then quit, and the only light left is the solid power one.  The router doesn't even try to acknowledge that the slingbox is there, even though I've plugged it into it (trying several different cables).  Any help would be great...Thanks guys!

have youc changed the ports you plug into?  Also, have you tried to install the software and see if once you install it you can find your sling on the network?

Thanks!  I did try to install the software, but it says it doesn't see the slingbox.  I did try to plug the cable into different jacks on the back of the router, is that what you mean?  When I talked to the slingbox tech support guy, he had me reset it several times in several different ways, none of which worked.  he says he thinks there may be something blocking the slingbox in the router...cause I turned off all the computer firewalls and stuff.  He doesn't know what it could be though.  Thanks for your help.

Okay, I got the linksys wrt54gs, and it did the exact same thing.  The network light came on for a little bit (getting my hopes up) and then when I ran the sling player program on a computer that was on the same network (like it said to do), slingplayer took FOREVER to start and when it finally did, the network light on the slingbox was off and the slingplayer program again said it couldn't find any slingbox on the network.

what speed is your Internet....just curious...also..you are hard wiring it right???

Unplug your Slingbox...connect the Ethernet cable..plug it back in...if not work then...try to reset the slinbox.....while plugged in
