All of a sudden, one of the computers connected remotely to the Slingbox is getting this error.  The other computer connects (not at the same time, of course!).  Something has changed on one of the computers.  Finder ID/Password are fine, firewall is fine, remote viewing is enabled.  Suggestions?

I have exactly the same problem here. I prefer to fix the problem before I talk to Customer Service. So guys help me out here. Thanks.

I've deactivated Norton internet security then restarted the sling player and the error was gone! Don't ask me what happened (I haven't changed anything!) because I really don't know. I hope it will work for you too. Good luck!

Norton Anti Virus was also the culprit in my problem.  After uninstalling and reinstalling Slingplayer, with no luck in getting rid of the error, I uninstalled/reinstalled Norton AV and that worked.

I got the same error message.  Check to see if you are connected to the wirerless network your slingbox was originally configured to.  I get multiple wireless networks isn my area.  I reconnected to the network in my home (rather than the others that are crossing within my home, i have no idea where they're from) That corrected the problem for me.

I just had exactly the same problem when I added my sling player to another PC - as with the others above, removal of Norton did the trick and the connection worked straight away.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I had the same problem but as soon as I deactivated the stupid Norton Virus (which I've tried to get off my p.c. but without success) the slingbox worked and I'm watching my local t.v. station (from Texas) here in Switzerland!

Thanks guys....disabled my Checkpoint VPN security policy (used for connecting to my company's network) and voila! Remote viewing again.. :D
