I will also go Rockies, I live the SW and always go for western teams. Even though they sweeped the Dbacks.

Okay, let's hear your predictions!
Will it be the Rockies or the Red Sox for the 2007 World Series? How many games will it go?
I say Colorado in 6 games. Let's go National League!

It's destiny.
Boston has 6 letters; Denver has 6 letters.
Red Sox takes 7 spaces and starts with an R; Rockies takes 7 spaces an starts with an R
Massachusetts contains 4 vowels; Colorado contains 4 vowels.
Boston is famous for the Boston Crab which has nothing to do with crabs; The Rockies are famous for Rocky Mountain Oysters which have nothing to do with oysters.
Coors Field is a mile higher than Fenway, but it is most famous for its high concession prices.
A Coors Light costs $4.95 at Fenway Park; The Rockies play at Coors Field and you can get a Coors Light for $6.00. You can't buy a Fenway at either one.
The first two games scheduled for Fenway Park were rained out. There have been 11 snowouts at Coors Field in its 10-year history.
Considering all that, I'll take the Sox in six.
The older I get, the better I was.
As a lifelong Sox fan I tried to stay subjective and weighed the great streak the Rockies are currently on. The greatness of Holliday, Frances, and the Rockies bullpen. How the Rockies destroyed Boston at Fenway in two games during June. Geez, I even learned how to pronounce Troy Tulowitzki.
but...
In my opinion the NL is the weaker league, Boston has two of the greatest play-off pitchers in the game today (Beckett and Schilling), an amazing bullpen, Gehrig and Ruth, some fabulous young players Pedroia, Youkalis, Paplebon, and Ellsbury, great scouting, and home field advantage.
Sox in 5.

I'm thinking I should change my mind and vote for the team that has more reasonable beer prices...

Josh Beckett is dominating lately, so you gotta lean towards the Red Sox
however, it'd be awesome to see a tight series for once
Um, tonight was a fluke. Wait until tomorrow!

That is what I thought too - and I live in the Eastern Time Zone.
We agree then, "later today. "

Some local tid-bits...
The Boston Globe:
http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2007/10/25/all_powerful_performance/
“The visitors, who had won 10 straight and 21 of 22, were embarrassed. The Sox pounded 16 hits in the first five innings. Rockies reliever Franklin Morales recorded two outs and gave up seven runs. He was followed by Ryan Speier, who walked three consecutive batters with the bases loaded. Eddie Cicotte of the 1919 White Sox didn't do that badly and he was trying to lose.”
”Entitled Sox fans, however, would do well to remember the 1960 New York Yankees, who beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by scores of 16-3, 10-0, and 12-0, but still lost the World Series in seven games.”
The Rocky Mountain News:

It was so frightening," one press box wag announced, "that Stephen King left."
Okay, Beckett and Co completely pounded them for game 1, but I do also think it was a fluke. They were hitting almost too well. 8 doubles? C'mon.
Let's see if Colorado puts up a fight in game 2. If not, it's already over.

If it was a fluke then you are correct Matt, Game #2 will be very interesting. Similiar to the ALCS Game #2.
But .....
if Sox scouting and execution is as good as I think it is then they know the below and a whole lot more.
Strengths
Jimenez has a power arm with an excellent fastball he can throw between 94 and 100 mph. His slider is thrown at 87-92 mph with a sharp late break.
Weaknesses
Because he has below average control, Jimenez walks too many batters. In 2007 he had a walks/9 innings rate of 4.1. Because he is inexperienced, he uses predictable pitch sequences.
Sox patience could make it a short night for Mr. Jimenez.
Might be an emotional evening at Fenway as it could be Curt Schillings last appearance in a Red Sox uniform (free agent at the end of the year).
Great Theatre !
I what you said will be the key:
Because he has below average control, Jimenez walks too many batters. In 2007 he had a walks/9 innings rate of 4.1. Because he is inexperienced, he uses predictable pitch sequences.
Could be another wild night for the Sox

Game #3 Predictions:
Roaring Rocky Mountain high crowd. Backs against the wall. Bats due to break out. Facing a "rookie pitcher" with a regular season ERA of 4.40 (5.93 over the last 10 regular season games). Should be on old fashion Rockies blow-out win tonight.
but....
Matsuzaka is highly effective the first time against teams. His high ERA is due to teams like the Yankees and Blue Jays not swinging at pitches out of the zone and forcing him to throw a ton of pitches then hammering his mistakes.
My prediction: Matsuzaka throws 5+ solid innings and leaves with a high pitch count. Sox jump all over Fogg. Roaring crowd goes silent as Sox move into their "prevent defense" (Youkilis to first, Crisp to center, and Ellsbury (Taco Man) moves over to replaces Manny in left) late. Sox bullpen huge again as the boys move to within 1 game from Baseball Nirvana.
Funny ESPN Simmons quote below:
Q: How upset were you during Game 2 that Fox cut away from the Fenway crowd giving Schilling one last standing ovation just to squeeze in a couple more commercials? Seriously, did they need the extra money so badly they needed to cut away from that moment?
--Derrick M., Simi Valley, Calif.
SG: The answer, apparently, is "Yes." Hey, it was only the most dramatic moment of the game. The good news is we have a free Taco Bell taco coming! Is it possible to eat a free taco when you're in the middle of a full-fledged riot? We'll have to see.
