So, I don't get any emails for either pm's or threads that I am subscribed to?

Is there another setting somewhere, other than in the email notifications area?

is this feature working?

Hmmm... I personally am getting e-mail notifications for PMs. I've just subscribed to this thread. Brandon, post another comment. :-)

Well... I think it's safe to say that e-mail notification for forum threads isn't working. I'll have it looked into first thing tomorrow.

Sorry for the inconvenience everyone.

Okay, I just got an e-mail notification for another thread. Looks like the tech guys may have fixed it. Let me know if you see any more trouble with notifications. :-)

Just got one too.

seems to be working for threads now, still don't know if I get them for PM's i wasn't previously.

anyone want to pm me :-)

alright, seems like our notification process was "stuck" for some reason

should be fixed now, but it could potentially happen again since I'm not sure why it got stuck in the first place

related question - how much do multiple notifications on the same thread (between site visits) bug you guys? we might have a way to throttle that down that's not enabled here

October 26, 2007 10:55 AM

throttling would be a good idea, but not the immediate or once a day solutions.  Maybe, once and hour, IF there are responses.  If that would be possible, it could be more effective.

"once between visits" is what we have implemented (but not enabled)

it means that you'll only get notified once (per thread) until you visit the site again

personally, I use GMail so I'm not as affected by getting multiple notifications (Gmail sorts them nicely by title)

Personally I never turn on the notification unless it is something I really need to know that someone replied and I don't want to miss it.

I, of course, am on often enough that I  can just look at the new posts since last time and keep up.

I never liked this type of alert.  Sometimes, one doesn't come back for a few days, just because of well, life.  But, there ARE responses to something one is interested in.  I know, I know, then COME back to the site often, that is the point.  But, it is not always the reality.

I would chose, immediatly, instead of the depedant form personally.
