I just put in my pre-order with buy.com, if you can even call it a pre-order. Hopefully, all goes well and it's ships when it's ready...

I also picked up an HDMI cable ($7), 8G SDHC card ($41 AR) and a SDHC USB ($10) thumb reader. Newegg FTW. I'm going to run a cat 5 cable to my TV set soon.

I'm crossing my fingers here...

Has anyone seen this appearing on any sites in the UK at all or know if it will be available on this side of the Atlantic at the same time as it is in the US, please?

Lets go SLING!!!! How long do we have to wait???

Just think about all the $$$ you can make on them now in the holiday season!! Suckers like me and others here will pay top dollar even though we know the price will come down a lot a few months after it is realeased. So realease it already!!! Just think of how much $$$ you will make!

I kind of think they would release it if it was ready..

I can put a label that says SlingCatcher on a Solo and sell it to you if you want.. It will probably work about as well as a nonfinished SlingCatcher..

Slinging Tivo HD from a Pro HD, Tivo Series 2 with cable and DirecTV from a Pro, Tivo HD from a Solo, Humax DRT800 from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO, and a SlingCatcher over Windstream DSL.

This is not something that I would joke about. ... we (ex. pats) are all very anxious to buy it. Playing with out emotions is just not fair. I don't think that there was ever a consumer product I was so excited about. It is a shame that ecostar resufelled everthing and are holding of the release to get their stuff inside the box (my estaimte). I only hope that it all worth while. They should give us an estimate about the current release date.

Just kind of pissed off that it is taking so long

To make matters worse, the upcoming CES will be the 1st CES show that I dont attend since 2001.

Matt Whitlock, the editor here on Sling Community, is scheduled to attend CES. Someone should tell him to shoot a video of the SlingCatcher in action for those who can't make it. ;) And we'll definitely be releasing before 2009! Check out this post for a bit more info:

Looks like my wise crack about 2009, might not be so far off. They already are saying Q2 of 2008, which means at least Q3 or Q4.
