I thought that I read a post a while back, and I had pondererd how this would work, and one day it hit me, so i thought that I would share my idea.

Someone had asked if it were possible to view the slingplayer in more than one location, which we know is not possible in the full 100% copacity.  However, if someone wanted to watch, for example a football team from home that they cannot watch wherever they are currently living, but a buddy who owns a slingbox and uses it in his house to sling from room to room, could send this signal to that friend who cannot see their team.

The thought in my head, would be to buy a TV Tuner Card for your PC (or Mac) install that into your computer, and then use an RF Modulator to send your Slingbox out to the RF Modulator, say through S-Video and then have that signal returned back to your TV  Card via the Coax, and then run a free program, like the Orb (visit mycast.orb.com) and your friend could view whatever channel you have selected.  They wouldn't have any control over changing the channels, but they could aleast see the image (obviously you would hook up  audio cables as well from your pc to the RF mod).

Sound like a reasonable idea?

Take the SlingBox out of the picture, cable or sat to the PC tuner with Orb..  You're talking about using 2 different products to watch in 2 different places..

Slinging Tivo HD from a Pro HD, Tivo Series 2 with cable and DirecTV from a Pro, Tivo HD from a Solo, Humax DRT800 from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO, and a SlingCatcher over Windstream DSL.

I always wonder why more folks have not tried to do this.

I could see a simple way to just watch a show using UltraVNC or a similar program. It wouldn't be that had to do something like this, I just personally never had a reason to set it up or try it.

Let us know if you come up with a  solution that works for you.

For what you said Ryandh, yes, that is the ultimate goal to watch it in two different places.  I am going to attempt to set this up this weekend, I will repost if it works, or until I get it right.

My point is that using a slingbox for local and orb for remote is pretty much the same as using 2 slingboxes or 2 orbs or whatever..  You're not achieving 2 viewers of the slingbox.

Ok my mistake Ryandh, I think that I may have not been very clear.  What I am attempting is to "re-sling" (so to speak) whatever image I have on my TV, to another person.

For example, my slingbox is in maryland, I use it so I can watch sports whille I am in Pennsylvania, I have a friend in North Carolina, and I woud use the Orb program to send him my image on my TV (from my slingplayer) down to NC, so he can watch whatever I am watching (my likely a sports team).

I haven't done it, I am just saying it is a possiblity.  I am trying to get my friend to purchase his own slingbox, but he isn't sure of how good a slingbox is (he has his doubts with his home internet).
