When will Sling be available on the iPhone through WiFi or AT&T?  Is this just a promised carrot and vapor wear or are there real dates of when I can expect it to be available?  Perhaps yet this year or is it into 2008 or 2009?

I doubt that they will make an iphone version until the people at apple get their heads out of their butts and make a 3.5G or even 3G version of the iphone.  That being said, I recently read that apple is planning a 3g version for the summer of 2008.

I think there could certainly be a 2.5 G version, I had very good luck with a DASH, which is running on the t-mo 2.5G network, and it was quite acceptable at 130-140kps.  I think having used the iphone since June, that the ATT 2.5 G EDGE network is superior to the T-mobile network.   As well, I think the much faster processor on the iphone is going to make quite a differance.

Studies have shown that as far as websurfing experience goes, the biggest impact between a 2.5g and 3G network can be the processor and not so much the download throughput. Of course, downloading larger files and such, this isn't true.  But, for the web surfind experience I think it is.

Add to that the RUMOR that slingmedia got the SDK early.

Add to that the FACT that DaveZ has added the iphone to his stable of devices.
