Try turning off the firewall. I had choppy video or none at all until I turned off the firewall. Allowing Slingplayer in the firewall did not work.
Hi there - need help! I recently installed my Slingbox Solo at my home in Virginia, and planned to view remotely from my Mac laptop here, running Leopard, in New York. Everything worked fine upon setup, and the Sling support team are able to connect remotely to my box perfectly. However, when I start up it says "Connected", "Starting Stream" and then "Optimizing". It never gets past Optimizing, it's never gone above 0 kpbs and I never actually see a video stream. I've done a speed test and I'm downloading at 4000 kbps+. I've also "Allowed Incoming Connections" for Slingplayer on the new Leopard firewall. Any help here?? Thanks! Quinn
I believe I've tried to turn off the firewall by clicking "Allow All Incoming Connections". Is there anything else I need to be doing to turn it off?

I've also installed SlingPlayer on a PC in my household, and while it's speed isn't stuck at 0 kpbs, it creeps to 4 kpbs and still, no stream.
Hi - thanks for the post! I'd try it, but the instructions are for a Windows computer. I'm on a Mac! Can't find the file in my Mac anywhere.
Still have no solution to this problem! Sling Media wasn't able to help me at all. Can anyone else offer any ideas? Again, running Leopard on a Macbook.
The only thing I can think of is under settings you have it set to manual vs auto.. If you have it set on manual and say out set it at 8,000kbps and your network isnt capable of this I have run into this issue.
Unfortunately no, it's set for auto. So confused!! I'm probably going to return this if I can't get it to work soon, but really would rather not.
