I've seen this a lot with slingbox AVs. Generally a reboot fixed the problem for me. If you're using the autoconfig UPNP stuff then I'd recommend switching to a static IP on that slingbox.

Several times now my slingbox has locked up during remote viewing and become inaccessable.
I will be watching the slingbox linked to a Dish Network 625 DVR with no problems, then occasionally when I use a remote control function the screen instantly freezes. This last time I noticed that the status line said that there were 3 commands buffered, not just one - this may happen every time it locks up but I'm not sure.
When I try to log on remotely again I get a message 0x8007274c that says there is a network problem. I don't believe its a network problem neccesarily as it is triggered by using the remote and it locks up instantly - I think the problem is at the slingbox.
To fix the problem I have had to turn all of the equipment off (Slingbox AV, Westell Dsl modem/wireless/router, slinglink turbo adaptors, and a Dlink gaming router - see below) and then rerun the setup software. Then the unit works again - sometimes for a week, sometimes for a few hours.
Note that the slingbox is not hard wired to my router due to its location in the home. I have set it up using a slinglink turbo kit, which seems to work. After my first failure I was suspicious of the slinglink so I added redundancey by also adding the Dlink gaming router so that the slingbox had two possible routes back to the main router/infrastructure point. This problem started before I added the gaming router, so I don't think that is the problem.
So now I'm in Europe, wishing the slingbox in CA worked. My wife is becoming more adept at fixing it, but this shouldn't be happening in the first place. If it was a common bug I'm sure I would have found it as a topic burning up this forum, but I have not. Any help would be appreciated.

This "dying" of Slingbox A/V has happened for me couple times in the last three months. Today it "died" again. I was watching some TV channel when I was looking Properties of Slingbox at same time. I think I was in "Information" menu when "dying" happened.
When I'm tried to connect again by pressing Start button in Slingplayer, I just got Error message: " A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host. Error: 0x80072751".
I have disabled UPNP in router and I'm using the static IP on the Slingbox and I have defined the needed port forwarding in router.
I do not have anybody in the premises, where my Slingbox is located for the next couple days.
I have feeling that the all "dying" and freezing problems are caused by the poor software desing of Slingbox firmware?

I too get periodic channel freezes, and I too get 3 pending commands, even when the command works, it still says pending. I simply disconnect and then reconnect with the box, and it works again, until the next freeze. Did you find a solution to this? I am trying to get it fixed myself.
i too am having this problem. my slingbox pro is hardwired to my westell fios router/modem. it had been working perfectly for the last 10 months until a few days ago.
I have the same problem with my Slingbox AV. I have to reboot it, then go through set up again. Is there anything that can fix this recurring problem?
The only fix is to get a device to reboot your slingbox on certain intervals.

I have Slingbox AV and it has never happened to me. But when I ran my setup, I manually configured the IP Address on the LAN and Port-Forwarded a rule for WAN access while on the road. Prior to doing that, I had lots of bugs.
I even control the Slingbox AV using SlingMobile on a Palm Centro. Once, while in Centro viewing, the entire Slingbox AV seemed to go 'out to lunch', requiring a repower of the Slingbox AV, of course after I returned home. But I trumped that up to constantly changing signal bars on my cell connection while I was pounding away at changing channels and performing other Dish Network remmote functions.
But have had perfect viewing on a laptop PC, inside the house or away at hotel rooms, watching Slingbox AV from a laptop PC. Its even interesting to see a good portion of the hotel's T1 serving all the guests hog up the bandwidth when its available, for a clearer picture. Love the optimizing function.
