This might be a dumb question but....I haven't seen any articles or information on any review sites or other. Can you watch one channel on your tv, while someone else watches a different channel on the computer? Anyone have any idea? I don't want to waste money on this if it won't work like that. I am tired of watching certain shows and would prefer to watch something else but $20 per month for another tuner is retarded. I would rather just buy one of these if it will work like that. Thank you.

If you are using your basic cable, then yes, you can watch one channel on your computer while someone else watchs another channel on the TV. If you must use any kind of set top box then the answer is no.

So, if you split the signal coming from your basic cable outlet and attach one coax to the Slingbox and the other to the TV you are good to go.

So there is no point in buying this then. Thanks for the info. Exactly what I wanted to know.

The classic and Pro have built in Tuners, so you can watch whatever you want on "basic cable" while someone else is watchin the tv.  If you wanted to watch something else on digital (HBO, Showtime etc) then yes you'd have to share the same tuner.  Do you have a 2nd tuner somewhere in your home though?  If you do then just set the slingbox up there and you won't have a "fight" for the tv.

Slingbox ProHD Slinging Comcast cable and HD via Comcast HSI using AirLink Powerline adapters; Slingbox Pro and Classic Slinging Sunddenlink Cable and D* HR21 via Sunddenlink HSI, using Linksys Gaming adapter. 2 Slingcatchers set up to use Slings.

Another way for two people to watch two different shows is to use two different tuners.  For example, one could be the set top box provided by your cable company, the other be the tuner built into a DVR, VCR, etc.
