Will you please release a native Linux slingplayer client? The wine solution is not working for me.

I use Vmware and a small footprint windows install. Works pretty good. But I agree a native player would be much appreciated. (Though I doubt one will be released).

I assume once Slingcatcher is out, the Linux client should be readily available.

Slingcatcher is essentially a piece of hardware that runs Slingplayer. The fact that slingcatcher hardware uses the chip (NXP Semiconductors' STB810) that runs MontaVista embedded Linux by default could mean a Linux slingplayer client is right on the corner?

That sounds cool about Slingcatcher, thanks for sharing the info.

But I think that just because it is Linux based does not necessarily mean they would have to release their source code as GPL or anything.

I hope they do, I personally think it would help them sell more Slingboxes.

You might want to check this out, until or if there is ever a native Linux Slingplayer release.
