So I just picked up a sling solo and it couldn't have been any easier to set up. Everything went perfect. I have the sling solo hooked up to a comcast hd dvr. Works good, video comes thru, sound comes thru all is happy. Now here is the problem. When I am watching a show on the computer, it can be live or dvr. The audio plays and is not out of sync but it's like someone turned the sound to slow-motion mode. The audio is not coming thru with the correct speed. So I called sling and did a chat. They told me to re-install my sound drivers with the newest ones. I did that, same thing. So then I tried another brand new computer and did a fresh install of the sling player. Same exact thing on the other computer. So I know it's not the computers. I tried adjusting my video settings a little lower, I even turned on audio only. Still the same, audio doesn't break up or anything, it's just in slow-mo mode. It's driving me crazy and not sure what to do. I have the latest sling player and firmware on the unit. I'm ready to bring it back to best buy to see if my box is bad. I looked thru here and didn't find anyone having this problem. Also one other thing I check, the audio in that goes into the sling box, I took those out and tested them on a normal set of speakers. Sound came thru like it should at normal speed. Anyone have any ideas or could my box be bad?

I also have this problem.... did you get any help yet?

I had to bring my slingbox back because it was so bad. If you uncheck the quickplay or whatever it is so it has to buffer, that seems to get rid of it. But problem is when I did that it started acting up and it would get all choppy and stuff. If I let it sit long enough the audio would catch back up. I like to change channels a lot so that just is not going to fly with me. I was sad to bring it back because it was very easy to set up, the quality was pretty good but I was just having too much problems with the audio being slow. I have a fast internet at home and at work and it would never really lag out or anything but just the audio I couldn't put up with. Good thing I bought it at best buy, made it easy to return. Maybe I will try again next year if a new model comes out

This really sounds like you are having some network issues.  You did not say that this was while on the local network or from the outside?  If you are experiencing this on the Lan then it is localized network issue.  What does the speed say on the player while on the Lan?  Outside?  When you no longer buffered and it was choppy was that on the Lan.  If so then once again what was the speed.  you should be up around 3000+ on the Lan and over 200 from the outside at the lowest to ensure some ability to view.

Also, you did not say if you were optimizing. Many times when you first start Slinging, the audio is slow as the connection is being optimized. Once the connection is optimized the audio is fine. This can take 30 or 40 seconds some times. There's an article about this here on SlingCommunity.

I don't think it's a network issue. I tried it on a laptop on the lan and it was def over 3000. The router is a version 8 WRT54G linksys. Once it buffered it wouldn't really ever break up

well if I let it buffer long enough, the audio would fix itself, however if I change channels or use the remote at all, the audio would be jacked again until I let it sit for a while

That's correct. It's working as it should. Each time you change a channel or what not, the Slingbox starts the buffering/optimization process all over again.

You can turn optimization off, but it's a much less enjoyable experience...

One thing I've found with my Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD cable box is that the sound gets out of sync or slows down even when watching the tv. I found the easiest way to fix it is to pull the power cord and let it re-boot. Just something to think about.
