Ditto that. It is unwatchable on my n95 8gb on wifi or 3g. Starts, stops, starts, stops. for every 20 seconds of video you get 60 seconds of frozen frame.
does anyone know when there is gonna be a fix for this? it stuuters and freezes up on mine and somethime resets the phone i know they say you shouldnt use it but i spend alot of time in my car and i like the video output looks great on my tv in my truck.
but does anyone know if and when a fix will be released for the n95 8gb?
I just disovered that it works OK from N95 8GB in 30 day trial mode.
When I register it, it manifests the issue. I also have a pocket PC that I originally purchased the mobile licence for. So I can unregister on the N95 8GB by using the unlock key on my Pocket PC. The key can only be used with one device at a time. When you register one it unregisters the other automaticaly and you recieve an email from slingmedia confirming re registration of device.
So it works fine in 30 day trial mode but screws up after registration. I have verified this a couple of times and contacted support to let them know.
Please if you have a pocket PC with wifi or internet access, another supported mobile phone or know someone who does try installing it on another device so that your own goes into 30 day trial mode to verify that it works OK and that it's not just me who's seeing this.
I had the same problem with my N95 8GB. Stumbled upon a simple solution. Launch your Nokia web browser first and connect to the internet. Then leave the browser open and launch Slingplayer - and it works perfectly. Donno why but it does... try it..
I am thinking of buying one of these phones (n95 8gb edition) but slingplayer running properly is a must. Can anyone else confirm magneto04 or Epistone findings please? Also Epistone and Mangeto04, which country and mobile phone operator did u buy your nokia n95 8Gb from? I am based in the UK so need to check these work arounds will work with versions available in this country.
mine works great. i have the euro 3g version so no at&t 3g for me, until i buy the recently released US 3g version. but for now wi-fi works great. and if i have a strong edge connection, it works flawlessly! today i was in downtown and had great service everywhere. it froze to buffer maybe every 45 seconds, but only for a quick second and then video resumed. cant wait for my N95-4!!!
I just purchased a N95-4 8GB (North American 3G model) and I installed the version of SlingPlayer from SlingMedia's website and configured it but when trying to connect to my Slingbox, it refuses to connect.
The error message that I get is to verify that my Slingbox is on and that the remote viewing is enabled. I know that my Slingbox is on and the remote viewing is enabled because I can connect remotely to this same Slingbox using my laptop.
I know that my cell provider's 3G network is working properly since I can browse the web with my N95-4. I also tested the Palm version on my Treo 680 with the same SIM card and it is working so I know that my provider is not blocking any of the critical ports.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
I managed to get SlingPlayer to work on my new N95-4 8GB after performing a reset/reinitialization of it.
The only thing that I noticed that the video will freeze occasionally regardless of whether I'm using the WiFi internal (192 network) even though my N95-4 is very close to my wirelss router, the 3G network, or the WiFi network through the internet.
Is this a common issue?
