I was interested to see the information released about SlingPlayer 2, it corrects some serious existing flaws in the current software. What wasn't mentioned was wether it would be released for the Mac in addition to the Windows version. One feature that is absolutely essential is the tv guide feature. At the moment it is absolutely pointless using the freeview/dtt tuner included in the SlingPlayer Pro. How on earth are you supposed to tell what channel you are watching if all you have is the channel number, let alone what tv show. For example, if I want to watch E4... I have to scroll through the channels until I find the little logo in the corner of the screen (this could take some time, there are hundreds of channels to search through). Anyway... rant over. Please bring SlingPlayer 2 (or some of its features) to the Mac.

The guide will be cool but I don't know that I'll use it.  The first thing I see happening is people complaining because they can't read it.  Using TV Guide or something is easier for me.

Slinging Tivo Series 2, Tivo HD, and TW cable from a Pro. Slinging Tivo HD from a Solo, Slinging Humax DRT800, and TW cable from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, AT&T SX66, N62, 8525, and Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO over Windstream DSL.

Hi,

On the Classic, with the internal DTT Tuner (Pal Classic), I get channel names on the remote, which is OK, not the EPG though, or a banner with channel name / number, as on some USB DTT Sticks, guess it's software related within the decoder / tuner of the Classic

But the remote shows what channel you're tuned in, it's something / indication of what you are watching; on the US versions, while using the internal tuner (Slingbox Pro), I don't get channel numbers or names, guess because it's an analogue tuner built in
