I see that the slingcatcher has a HDMI port.

I wonder if I could use a DVI to HDMI cable in reverse to connect a slingcatcher to a DVI port on a LCD monitor?

If that works for the video I assume you can use the RCA plugs for audio

Shouldn't be any reason you can't..

Slinging Tivo Series 2, Tivo HD, and TW cable from a Pro. Slinging Tivo HD from a Solo, Slinging Humax DRT800, and TW cable from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, AT&T SX66, N62, 8525, and Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO over Windstream DSL.

Any idea if it will mandate HDCP? A lot of the older monitors would not be HDCP compliant.

I'm guessing (and hoping) it won't, but we'll pretty much have to wait and see..

Question is, for how long? :-)

Yes. Anything that is HDMI or DVI can be adapted (either direction) as you suggest using an HDMI / DVI conversion cable for video.  As long there's an alternate way to handle the audio, you should be pleased with the result.

SlingBox Solo & Dish Netwotk: Slung via a Line-Of-Sight WiFi LAN connection consisting of a 24db directional (parabolic grid) antenna and a 500mw signal booster to a remote location exactly 3.81 Miles from my home Comcast Cable WAN connection. Signal strength: 88% to 100%, Actual speedtest throughput 700 to 900 kbps.
