It has to be plugged in while you hold down the reset button. And I think it is 30 secs. I'm not positive about the length of time though.
But, if you had only a partial firmware upgrade, you may have fried your box. That is why they recommend you do it locally and with an ethernet connection.
I tried to update the firmware on my slingbox tuner a while back and something went wrong. The firmware only installed halfway and then I lost the remote connection I was using. So the Firmware on my slingbox is all messed up.
What I want to do is return it to its factory specs and firmware but can't figure out how to do it. I tried contacting slingmedia help and they were not very helpfull.
Do I just need to hold down the reset button for a certain period of time? I've tried for 10-15 seconds and it didn't work.
Any other ideas on how to hard reset my slingbox so it has the factory firmware again?
Thanks for your help.
