I have Slingbox running on several computers and it works just fine. I have a G4 tower that connects, but will not display the TV video. The sound works fine. I wonder if it is because this unit is running off of a small 4 port hub, rather than off the Westel modem. I have the resolution set @# 1024 X 768 on the G4. It is not a huge issue but would like to see if I can get it working. Appreciate any help. Thanks,

Can you see the slingbox window on your mac? There was a bug with the slingbox that if you moved the window off screen onto another monitor, then removed that monitor, the slingbox window stayed in that position off screen. I would try setting your resolution higher just to see if the window is somewhere else.

Phil,
Yes, I can see the Slingbox window and control. I will try bumping up the resolution and see if that helps.

I will also try hooking the unit directly into my Westel modem and eliminating the hub to see if that could be causing the issue.

Appreciate your help.

One other option is, you may have the stream set to audio only on your mac.
Slingplayer->Audio->Audio only

I doubt you've done this, since the window fills in with a music icon.

What's the clock speed on your G4? Anything close to 1 GHz will not properly display the video in high quality mode. You'll need to remove high quality in order to view the video. It sounds like you are running near 1 GHz. Newer G4s that ran closer to 1.5 GHz or higher do a lot better. But around 1 GHz, you have problems...

Guys,
Went and looked at the G4 and it is a 500 MHZ processor. Now I understand why the video is not showing up. I will look for a card to upgrade the computer.

I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks

Oh yeah, that's way, way to slow, probably even if you removed high quality mode.

Yeah, see if you can get a 1.5 GHz or higher upgrade card. Then it should work a lot better...
