I'm sorry if this comes across as silly. But, have you checked that the IR cables haven't been moved or disconnected? My friend had his cat accidentally knock a cable off by a few centimeters and that was enough for it to stop working. Do a test with a digital camera to see if your cables are still sending a signal.
When I press one of the virtual remote buttons in my Sling application (using a Slingbox Pro connected to a DirecTV HR20-700 DVR) nothing happens...i.e. I see within the Sling application that the command (e.g. pushing the "Guide" button) is being sent to the box but the Guide never shows up. Anyone have an idea as to what may be causing this? I'm able to easily connect to my Slingbox via the Sling application on my laptop, either remotely or within my WiFi setup at home but I can't get the remote buttons on the virtual remote to command the SB Pro. The remote controls were working the first month or two when I set it up but have not worked the past few times I have tried to use the SB application. TIA
The IR cable is still in place but you make a very good point that I had not considered...maybe the IR cable itself is problematic. I'll play with it tonight.
Thanks for the suggestion!
It's probably more so that your HR20 has reverted back to RF remote operation mode after on of the latest updates; thus making it non responive to IR commands.
Go to the menu, setup, remote and select IR instead of RF as the remote operation type.
At this point you should be good to go ;)
OMG I'm a complete dumbass! I had forgotten that I had changed the remote control operation to RF because IR performance sucks with the HR20-700 series DVR. I've got my dunce cap on as I write this!
Let the flames begin!!!
There's not alot of flaming on this site. We all have made silly mistakes.
But, if you need it, then....
Just kidding!
Have a Sansa device or MP3 player, then check out The latest!
