Do you have a two head IR cable pointed at your DVR? If so, one button press on the slingplayer will result in both of the heads lighting up and sending two signals to the DVR.
You should only use one head of the cable on one DVR. Tape the other one up or point it away from the DVR.
I have a strange problem using the remote on the SlingPlayer application. I am controlling a Humax 9200T DVR in the UK, but everytime I press a button on the remote, I get two actions on the DVR. For instance, if I press the down arrow to move down the guide, one press of the key results in a movement of two channels on the DVR. This makes it very frustrating to get to the right channel!
I notice that when I press a key, the player says "2 Pending" which may mean something.
Any ideas on what could be wrong? I am controlling a SlingBox Solo.

Yes, I do have the two heads. I will try with only one!
Did my comment about the "2 Pending" mean anything useful?
Steve
I have now removed one of the IR Blasters, but I still get the same problem. I hid the other one around the back of the unit and so it is unlikely to be interfering
So I still have the issue!
Steve
You could check your IR speed in the Slingbox setup and try a different setting, that may help.
Have a Sansa device or MP3 player, then check out The latest!

Yes - I just tried that and set it to Slow - same problem and so I tried Medium - just the same! I tried a double click on the up/down arrows and it caused it to jump over 4 channels.
Very strange!

Was there an exact code selection for your box? You might try some different remote codes..
Slinging Tivo Series 2, Tivo HD, and TW cable from a Pro. Slinging Tivo HD from a Solo, Slinging Humax DRT800, and TW cable from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, AT&T SX66, N62, 8525, and Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO over Windstream DSL.
Yes - there is an exact match - the Humax 9200T. What is slightly puzzling is that each time I go back into the SlingBox properties to change the IR speed, all the various settings are still in place until I get to the Humax model - it always says Other, even though when I set it up, it says 9200T. Not sure if that is normal behavior or not.

Have you tried with another computer? Just to see if it's a corrupt installation on your computer or something with the software.
There are some great ideas here. I did try this one - loading a version I downloaded from the UK site onto another computer, but exactly the same results - a double movement for each click on the remote.
Do you think this could be a faulty Slingbox?
Steve
Could be the slingbox.. Could be a bug in the software. Do you know anyone else with that brand DVR on their slingbox? If it affects them, then there is a bug in the software. If it doesn't, then we've isolated it to your slingbox.
Alternately, you can use a digital camera to see the IR flashes and see if it is sending two button presses for each click on your mouse or button press on the keyboard. First try with your DVR settings. Second try it with changing the brand of device on your slingbox. If it happens with your brand of DVR and not with the other brand, then there is a problem with the software. If it happens with both brands, then it's the hardware.
Search here for for "9200t". There are quite a few threads, I didn't look through all of them.
You might try resetting the SlingBox to factory and rerunning setup. Have you tried different Humax codes?
Have you rebooted the DVR lately?

I'm not actually at the house where the slingbox is - so the idea of using a digital camera is a bit hard to do. If I reset the Slingbox to Factory, then I will need to be in the house to reconnect, won't I. I don't want to do that unless it is a last resort.
The whole installation is new - I only installed it last weekend, and this occured right from the first connection - when the DVR was being connected for the first time.
One question for the forum - when you press a down arrow on the remote in SlingPlayer, how many pending items does the player show - mine shows two. Just wondering if that will give us any clues.
Thanks for all the ideas
Steve
I thought that might be an issue but mine actually says 2, goes to 1, and back to normal..
Does it do the same thing if you use the keyboard vs clicking the remote?
Slinging Tivo Series 2, Tivo HD, and TW cable from a Pro. Slinging Tivo HD from a Solo, Slinging Humax DRT800, and TW cable from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, AT&T SX66, N62, 8525, and Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO over Windstream DSL.
Thanks - that removes that as an issue - that is exactly what mine does. It does the same from the keyboard and the remote. I did read all the 9200T threads and learned some interesting things about controlling the device, but nothing on this issue. Looks like it is just my box that is giving issues.
I can do most things now that I have programmed Favorites buttons, so I will just have to work round this issue for now. I guess there is an official support site - I will ask them if anyone else has ever had this issue.
Thanks for all your help!
Steve
Just one more bit of information - this seems to be related to the use of the up/down and left/right arrows on the remote control - the ones used to move up the guide and across to the required program. If I press "1", then the Humax goes to channel 1 - not to channel 11, which you would expect if the hardware or the IR blaster was at fault.
Steve
Might be. I remembered seeing this issue a few times in the past and all the old threads I found don't show solutions..
Weird thing is it doesn't seem like everyone has the problem.
Have you tried a different Humax code? A code for a different box might work and not have the issue..

I agree. Even though it sounds like a software issue, I doubt Slingmedia would have overlooked that in their beta tests. It's just too obvious of a problem to overlook.
Hi, I connected my SlingBox to a Humax PDR-9700 and I have the same problem as you described.
It double clicks when I use the up/down arrows but not if I click on a number. Seems to be a problem in the software.
Has anyone solved the problem yet?
(P.S.: I am a newbie from Germany)
No answer yet from the official support line. I will post anything I get. It is good to see that someone else has the same problem - at least I'm not going crazy!
