You need to get a VGA - Component adapter from a computer store. Then you hook it up directly to the TV and use the TV as a monitor. (640x480) You can't connect it via the Solo. The upcoming SlingCatcher can do this though. Whenever that comes out.
Hi was wondering if the solo can help me watch Movies on my TV from my laptop. As of Now I only have my solo hooked up to my digital cable box. The TV I want to watch my movies on only has components(The Red, Yellow, White inputs...think they are called components). Wiht allthe inputs onthe Solo can it help me achieve this.
Check out the article "How to Connect a Computer to a TV" over at TechLore, which has much of the information you need to get started on this.
There are several variables though, like the types of connections your laptop supports and the kind of inputs on the TV.

A summary of the possible connections is also available from the MovieLink site:

These are the details that I originally used to connect my laptops to my TV using S-Video and RCA video/audio. I purchased my cable from svideo.com:

Thats great! The cable you linked is exactly what I need. Are they common? Can they be found at most computer stores?
I do not know how common they are - someone else may.
I ordered from the company I mentioned above and they shipped that day as promised. My only complaint that they did not notify me that they had shipped in a timely manner. I was left wondering what happened to my order.
I would at least try Best Buy, Circuit City, or Radio Shack - and know you can always get them from this site.
