SaskTel MAX television uses the Motorolla VIP1200 (VIP1200MM) box with an atlas 1055 day remote. The VIP1200 Uverse setting in slingplayer does not work at all with this box. Only by A LOT of searching and a bit of lucky guesswork was I able to get the box to respond to the slingbox. I used the alternate code V1112 and I can control some of the basic functions now. However the one function that is really missing is the guide. While the guide button does work, it goes to the wrong menu page on the cable box. I can enter channel numbers, surf 1 channel at a time, but the guide takes me to the pay per view screen (local on demand).

Maybe someone out there can offer some help to get this box working better. Sling tech support could not tell me anything I didn't already know unfortunately. He didn't even know why v1112 worked.

Questions:

When I'm using V1112 for an other code, where is it getting the ir codes from? I have nothing in my sbav directory named v1112.

I have tried with no luck to get my friend's slingbox working on Sasktel's Motorola 1200MM (definitely not the ATT version) so thanks for the code heads up.

Where did you 'find' the alternate code, or did you just keep trying codes until one worked? I have a call into Sasktel to see if they can give me any more information regarding the model numbers and such but my gut tells me the Sasktel service is a proprietary service and that they have not/will not be working with Sling media to fix the issue. Its funny though... the Remote is universal (other cable companies (such as Shaw) use this remote as well.

The code was a lucky guess and it only took me 2 tries to find it, believe it or not!  I started at V1111 and then V1112 worked.  It was a result of reading something on a random web page about codes starting with a letter and 4 numbers and the example they gave was V1000 or something like that.  At least V1112 gives you basic controls to control power and easily change channels which is better than nothing at all.   While the remote is universal, I believe it's probably custom programmed for the motorolla box.

Does your friend have the solo model or the a/v model?  Did he get it from best buy?

He bought the pro model.

I haven't got back to him with the code, but he feels the same way; if he can power on the box and change channels, thats a win for him.

I like the product but the trouble with cable boxes (and convergence in general) is that each company puts their own '****' for lack of a better word into the boxes so when you try to manage them with 3rd party software or firmware (like a slingbox), its a nightmare.

Be glad we don't live in the states I guess; they handcuff their systems even worse (half the functionality built into the cable boxes is turned off because they don't want to give you the service...)

I'll try it this week and let you know if it works

Not sure if this helps but I have a solo with the Motorola VIP1216 I first tried the V1112 code and did get a bit of success. Then I read a little more about the situation and problems and noticed the Motorola had a number of codes available. I chose the AT&T version and poof! Just like magic the remote works for most functions. Record/guide/menu. Not all features are working so I'm on a mission to find out how to modify this code to work the rest of the programming buttons. Not being a whizz it may take some time.
P.S.
Had the sling for only two weeks and not sure how I ever lived without it.

If I recall right(haven't tried in awhile) there were several AT&T versions of the code. Can you tell me which one you tried? I seem to recall trying the ATT and it did not work at all.

Please let me know when and if you make a fix. Since it is my friend's Sling, I haven't the access to it to fool around.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated

I used the Motorola (AT&T) with either of the 1200 or 1216 IR codes
