I've recently purchased a Slingbox and (at certain times of day), if I'm lucky, my upstream bandwidth allows me to stream my PVR at 640x480.

I'm using the At Large 2 recorder demo to try recording at these times of day but the quality is much worse than watching via Slingbox. I have set the bitrate, resolution and fps etc. to the same as my Slingplayer settings. However, the picture on recordings is noticably more pixellated.

Is this typical, or is there anything I can do?

Thanks for your help.

At Large can only do 320x240 You will never get a picture as good as 640x480. For most folks that want to post the vids on YouTube or the like it's fine.

But at the end of the day you need to remember At Large has figured out a way to hack the slingstream to do what it does. You may want to wait for Slingplayer 2.0 to see how it records before buying At Large.

Also, since they are not a Sling Media partner, there is no guarantee it will work with future versions.

Have a Sansa device or MP3 player, then check out The latest!
