I got an NTSC Slingbox AV from the United States. No problem with NTSC.

In PAL However, i got the following picture.

It looks like a deinterlacing problem to me but i may be wrong. In 640x240 or 320x240, this doesn't appear.

Is this normal for a US Slingbox to get that kind of results with PAL ? Is this documented ? Do i have a defective unit ?

Is there a way around ?

Would a PAL Slingbox give me such results ?

Last, would a PAL Slingbox work flawlessly with both PAL and NTSC sources (i mean, would there be the same kind of problem in NTSC ?)

Thanks

NTSC and PAL television systems are quite the opposite, if you have a NTSC Slingbox and you're trying to make it work on a PAL country, I'm surprise you get any picture at all. Ypur Slingbox is not defective is just that the TV color system are different, if you get a PAL Slingbox, your problem will be fix fr sure, but the problem will start when you try the unit on a NTSC country, there's no way to override this becasue is the TV system of the country and the way the SLingbox is designed for each continent.

Surely the NTSC/PAL aspect is not relevant here, as this is using an AV input, not a TV input. These composites are normally RGB and will work on either a US or UK box. I am in the UK and happily running a US box, admittedly a Classic not an AV, driving the AV Composite input from a UK PVR, and the picture is perfect.

I would suggest the output from whatever AV device you are using needs to be looked at. Is it configurable ? If so, then make sure it is selected to RGB.
