can i access slingbox at work w/out having admin rights,cause my understanding is that you have to install softeware,i'm i correct or can i run the player/software from an external port. hard drive without installing any software on pc???? just curious    thanks

Possibly - two caviates:

  1. Some employers block the Slingbox ports.  You may need to change your SlingBox port settings.
  2. Some employers frown on the use of Slingbox while at work.   There have been reports of people whose jobs have been jeopardized after watching their SlingBox at work.  Two issues are involved here - the use of your time and the use of the Internet band width.  Be sure that your supervisors and IT people do not have a problem with your using their systems for this purpose.
