I have a Slingbox Pro and a D-Link Xtreme N router.  Verizon Fios is my provider. My streaming is clear, however, every 10-15 minutes the video freezes for a few seconds. The audio continues fine during this time.  After those few seconds, the video unfreezes and it works fine again, until the cycle repeats 10-15 minutes later. The same problem exists on many different computers and from many different locations so I'm pretty sure it's the router. I've had the router about 6 weeks and don't think I can return it. I'm hoping there is something I can do to make this work smoothly and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You know I've read an article past days about some compatibility problems with the D-Link routers and they advice to update the firmware on them...did you try that already?

If not give it a shot, and see if that solve your problem, because it seems like the Slingbox is not the one with the problem here.

Same problem here.  I just picked a DIR-655 and noticed the video pause every 10 minutes (or so).  The router and slingbox (solo) are also the latest firmware.  This happens streaming video locally over wifi so it's not an ISP problem.  Since I just bought the router, I can return it for something else.  The main reason I wanted it was wireless-n.

I just returned it and got a Belkin N router instead (F5D8231-4). Hopefully I'll have better luck. Anyone have any experience with this Belkin router?

I too have the DLINK DIR-655. I have found the only way to stop the freezing was to roll back the firmware of the router to (version 1.02) Everytime they come up with new firmware...i load it to see if its fixed...so far no luck.

Mine does the exact same thing, I don't even use my slingbox any more because of this. I rolled back the firmware to version 1.02 and it still does it. Why hasn't D-Link fixed this?

I just ended up getting a new router and now it works fine.

Does this freezing happen only when connected wirelessly or wired? Also, is the Slingbox wired or wireless?

The slingbox is wired, the laptop isn't. I'm not sure if I've tried it wired, that kind of defeats the purpose though.

True but it helps determine the cause. I'm thinking the QoS isn't setup or working properly. Also, what type of card is in the laptop (a/b/g or n)?

QoS? It's a wireless G card. But it happens on different computers too.
