My daughter lives in Itay and would like to have some of the shows on my DVR. I am going again soon and would like to leave some DVDs for her.

Anyway to capture the picture on my PC via slingbox onto a DVD??????

A little far fetched but just wondering.  Just in case I do get my second Slingbox working.

Well the answer unfortunately is NO...yet...Slingmedia is preparing their new Slingplayer 2.0 which apparently will allow us to record TV shows on our PC's, with the Clip+Sling feature, but we have to wait until that.

Actually, the answer is "Yes" - almost.

If your DVR is being used as input into the SlingBox, it can be recorded using a couple of available tools. Anything that your SlingBox can stream can be recorded with these programs. The recording is not a DVD, but the files can be copied as data to a DVD and played on Windows PC with the MS Media Player.

The product that I use is Applian's At-Large Recorder:

The other product is the SLR Slinger - do a search on the forums for the details. Though I have played with this tool, I do not have a current link to it - perhaps someone else can post a link.

Enjoy,

Floyd

Slinger is described and is available (free) at http://www.benlo.com/slingbox/
I too have just played with it but it seems to work pretty well. I don't know if it is the best solution for your task.
