Check out Dave Zatz blog and in it he posted a picture of the Slingcatcher.  http://www.zatznotfunny.com/2008-04/more-htpc-experimentation/  So the box does exist and hopefully soon we can all be as lucky as Dave and have one in our entertainment center!

Dave - I see that you use a plasma TV with the catcher. what is a reasonabke strean to get a propoer picture on a 40' Full HD LCD screen? I have a 34' CRT, which is connected to a remote slingbox via my laptop. I stream about 600-900 and get a fine picture, but I am concern that if I upgade to a Full HD LDC the quality will go down.

Interesting question!

I'm not sure how increasing the maximum television resolution would reduce the quality of incoming video. The current generation of Slingboxes stream at 640x480. The maximum resolution the SlingCatcher will output is 1080i which lines up nicely with the maximum resolution the forthcoming Slingbox PRO-HD output. You current speeds are fine for 640x480, though 1080i on that upcoming Slingbox would require about 2Mbps upstream. As usual the more bandwidth you have, the higher quality video you'll have.

FYI, I went with 720p on this particular plasma given my viewing distance of about 8'. Had the seating been closer, I would have chosen 1080p. But I'll save that resolution debate for another time. ;)
