Hi, i've been slinging for awhile, but more to PCs than anything.  Gotta get my Buffalo Sabres.

Anyway, I recently purchased a Spring Mogul (6800).  I use it with my slingbox AV.  On PCs, I am normally limited by the upstream bandwidth of my internet connection, but usually get between 600 and 800kbps.  Obviously, inside the lan, I get much more.

My problem is that on my Mogul, under both EVDO and wireless Lan (same network as the slingbox), I am only getting between 200 and 280 kbps.  Needless to say, hockey could look better.

I have the newest slingplayer, and the newest firmware on my phone.  Speed tests usually come out around 700 kbps on my Mogul, so I dont know why I'm not getting more bandwidth.

Any ideas?

Yes buddy:

1) You get 700kbps on the speed test using the Wi-Fi or the GPRS EVDO?
2) What is the upload speed of your home network?
3) Are you using wireless B/G or N router?
4) Your packet size data plan is limited or unlimited with your carrier?

1) I actually get about the same speeds with both the EVDO and the WLAN.
2) The upload speed for my home network is about 1Mbit. However, it is shared, and I usually see about 600-700 when slinging to a PC (outside the network).
3) It is a 54G(well, 108G - but that doesn't work with the Mogul), but that shouldn't be of consequence here, as that is much faster than the link speeds I need.
4) Sprint SERO, so its unlimited data.

Well this complicate things a little bit, because you have everything you need to make it work fine (apparently), the problem here is that if you're getting the Slingbox to work fine on a remote PC, it must be something related either with the phone or the carrier. You can discart the Slingbox, network speed, router settings.

Yeah, thanks for the help though. If you (or others) would'nt mind, I'd like to know what kind of bitrates I should be looking for. I assume I don't need as much as I do on a PC, but what is considered "good"?

When higher is the UPLOAD speed at home better results you will get remotely (or from the cell phone) the Slingbox requires at least 256kbps upload speed to get " a more or less" picture remotely I always recommend at least 512kbps upload to get better results and a decent picture, however when you're remotely all it matters is the DOWNLOAD speed.Which I will recommend exactly the same 512kbps download speed. More than that will get you better picture/audio and of course not choppy or delayed picture.
