If you are trying to stream games from your Console to a computer and try to interact with it at the same time, you'll be disappointed.
The slingplayer puts in about a 10 sec buffer to avoid network hiccups. So, any button you press on a controller will be delayed about 10 secs.
If you just want to see the screen and capture it, there are better choices out there. Just having a feed from your console to a Camcorder then a firewire conversion down to a computer is superior. And that will be in realtime.
The only benefit I see with using a slingbox is that everything is encoded and streamed immediately. Albeit to an audience of 1 connection.
Ok, i host a show on the internet about video games and am looking for a product that can send the content of said video games downstairs to my computer and this looks like it would get the job done perfectly but i need a few questions answered.
1. Are there any hacks/drivers that would allow me to use the Slingbox as a webcam type device for input into different sources
2. If the above is no, is there any Anti-Screen Capture devices? Because if i couldn't do the above, i could always just capture the box and feed it as a live webcam screen cap.
3.If i could do these things would i actually be able to use it in this way? Could i actually play a video game or is there a delay? Would the bitrate (108mbps Wlan. Very good Connection) impair the quality of the video?
Figures there would be a delay i suppose. Well do you know of any wireless way i could stream that content to the basement? I would prefer component, whether it is HD or not.)
