Installed the latest slingplayer on my Nokia N95 8Gb and it worked very well.... twice.

I have not since been able to get the player to work, through Internet or Wi-Fi at home.  I can watch my sling box from all the PCs in the house but not my phone.

The phone has V15.0.015 Nokia Firmware and Sling player v1.01.05

It locates OK but either hangs when connecting or just says unable to connect.  Frustrating as I have paid for the player and after paying it stopped working!

Did you unsintall it and re-install it again, to see if it makes any difference?

Did you update the Nokia firmware lately?

Tried the re-install and my Nokia Firmware is the latest up to date firmware for my Uk model.

Sorry buddy, but I'm not that related with the UK versions, I'm on US, on the US models we have problems after the latest Nokia firmware update, probably you have the same problem with the UK version, try to get a back up of all your data on the mobile and restablisk from pactory and re-install the Slingplayer, if the problem diasppear, then the firmware of Nokia is the one that is giving you the problem.

The firmware was already on the phone. I am not going to risk going backlwards and risk destroying the phone and invalidating my Vodafone contract.

It looks like I have paid for a peice of software that does not work in the UK. Can't say I am too happy about that :(

Hi John, i have the n95 8g using the same sling player. I also have been having this problem!!
At first I just kept restarting the phone, most of the time it worked, also do you have any apps running in the background? Like for me I have taskman and mobile mail running, closing these stopped the problem..... :)

John why don't you ring Technical Support they sorted the problem out for me the only difference is I'm using the N95, I'm sure with the latest update they can help you with this problem.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Sorry have been too busy at work to sort this. Will give their support chap a ring soon. I have upgraded to the latest 8gb firmware but still no joy :(

I am having the same problem on my recently purchased N95-4 8GB.

I just installed SlingPlayer on it and it refuses to connect. I know that everything is correct (remote viewing is enabled and my Slingbox is on since I can connect with my computer without any problems).

My 3G is also working since I can browse the internet without any problems. I tested the SlingPlayer for Palm on my Treo 680 and it is working although because the Treo 680 doesn't have 3G, there is a lot of buffering so I know that my cellphone service provider is not blocking any network ports.

Any ideas/suggestions?

I managed to get the SlingPlayer software to connect to my Slingbox after I did a reset/reinitialization of my N95-4. The only thing that I noticed was that after a few minutes of streaming the audio/video, the video would freeze up while the audio continued regardless of whether I was using the 3G network, the wifi network using the internet, or the wifi network using the internal network (192 IP address).

Is this a common issue (freezing video while the audio continues)?

Found a solution thanx to some guy in this forum, I had the same problem and the tech support at slingmedia were very nice but couldn't help. I turned the nokia web browser on & kept it on ,turn sling on & score live tv, also i notise after you do this once the next time you dont need to turn nokia web browser on no more, slingmobile works fine, i only test for half hour. hopefully it will continue working tomorrow

Mine works fine after some work. S.R 30.0 on n95 8gb

First it wouldnt connect .. i reboot the phone after which i can connect to friends slingbox but coulnt connect to mine. Finder ID was correct but no joy so i cleared the ID and tried again..again no joy. Removed the it from the directory and reboot

Tried again (adding it back to the list) and this time it worked on my slingbox as well as others.

Hope this helps .. will post again if any other problems ..going to test it for the 30 days and hope it holds out. First impressions P 10/10 V 10/10 thru WLAN

I have a N96 with trial version of slingplayer mobile-Have no problems tuning in with my laptop but with phone it can not establish a connection with slingbox-seems to keep prompting me to connect as well-suing wireless connection at home to test it as |I know this works with my laptop-tried all fixes above no joy! Have also unisntalled and reinstalled slingplayer mobile-will not consider doing anything which will lose any information on my phone eg reinstalling OS. Please help somebody.

I had a similar problem (see June 13 & June 14 above). I fixed my problem by performing a hard reset since I only installed a few applications on my N95-4 at the time but since you don't want to do this drastic step, I'm not sure what the solution is.
