Yes!!  It works!!

Download the SLR Recorder. see this post

http://www.slingcommunity.com/forum/thread/26536/New-Slingbox-Recorder/

I updated the itouch to 1.1.4 and jailbroke it with Ziphone 3.0 (extremely easy)

Install ORB.LIV, you will also need to install ORB on your pc.  Using SLR recorder file>select video folder (and choose a folder to save your recording).

right click on the orb in the lower left of the pc and selct configuration > media.  add the folder in that you chose in SLR.

Launch SLR and start recording.

Open ORB on your itouch goto folders and click on the folder you selected in slr.  click on the file.  your are now watching the stream that is being recorded on your pc.

This is a start, I figure with all the brains in this community, somebody will figure out something a little easier or figure out a way to do over internet.

AMAZING!!!
this works great also on the iPhone of course!
3 issues:
1. delay as you see from the start of the recording,
2. must start a new recording after stoping to watch, if not it will start from the start of the recording.
3. can not change channels, well, you can by useing touchpad pro.

Yes, there was quite a bit of delay. On mine it was about a minute (should have mentioned that). If a person could figure out how to control the pc from the itcouh I think we would be in good shape. If you can figure out how to open a URL on ORB live(or any other application to view videos on iphone or itouch). I would bet the VLC plugin would work better (if you know of one let me know).

Does the Itouch or Iphone support MMS? If so there may be a better way to do this.

with Touchpad pro you can control your pc from your iphone/itouch.

go to www. touchpadpro .com

also, there are application that can be installed to send MMS but i dont know how this can help

dont bother with the touchpadpro for this... I spent the $15 for the screenview application. I can control the sling box just fine, but I can only see the window and not the video. On the flip side you can easily control the orb on the pc and use orb live on the iphone. Still the solution is for SlingMedia to get slingplayer working for Iphone-touch (instead of some SlingModem that sounds like it is just going to make the (incapable) cable companies richer.

oh yeah.... and sound does not get transferred. It's worth $15 to be able to control any of your computers from your itouch

I think there's some confusion - MMS is the name of both a text-messaging protocol and a video-streaming protocol. While the iPhone does have a third-party app that support MMS, it does not currently have the ability to play any type of streaming video other than mp4, and not even "live".

I have set it up and watched it on my touch, using ORB and ORB Live. I don't know if you consider about a 30 second delay "live" or not, but I can have a "live" show on my TV, sling it and watch it on my laptop with SLR Recorder and the VLC plugin and open up the file with my touch at the same time(using orb) as it is being recorded with SLR recorder on my laptop. So, no I guess technically it is not live since it is playing from a file that is recorded about with about a 20-30 second delay.
